Ways to Make Money - not get rich, not get quick

Aside from standard work, is there way to make money on side from standard work? i.g. if man work 9-5, is there smart and safe way to enduce currency? some say stock, some say invest. cyclists usually smarter than most because of oxygent to brain higher from ciruclatory exercises. what say you then? not for get rich, and not for get fast money, but sustained extra income for paying for bike, fix, maintenance, other not-cycling hobbies, some free time, maybe vacation holiday after few years.

you mention stock, invest -
the way to long-term wealth is generally shove a portion of what you make every paycheck in some sort of stock market index fund (specifically which one is a topic for another board - try fool.com to learn more) and let it grow and grow and grow. you make your money but then let others use yours to make more.

Personally, I've built up a nice little nest egg from my half-a-dozen years of "standard" employment, and in the last year, my investment income was ~30% of my salary. gettin up there....

Best o luck. Let us know if you find a better way.
Maybe bring back Biopace, if the patent has expired??

White collar crime. Sure you might have to spend a year or two in a country club prison, but as long as you don't go all ENRON you'll be fine.

Work a second job. Put half in cash the other hand in precious metals. Then hope that the economy falls apart. If it does with cash or precious metals will be very valuable.

Invent or sell something.

I've had a great bike related idea which I'm going to manufacture and sell soon

May not make me rich but it'l definitely give me some spending money.

Oh, and don't 'work' for money. Create, buy or re-sell something that'll make the money for you without standard 'work'.

I am going to get a bike trailer (build one actually) and get to or 3 coolers and pile them up. Fill them with generic sodas and some candy bars (esp peanut ones) and and ice, take them to the parks where they have baseball games. Don't forget the bottled water. $1 for the water, 75c for name brand soda, 50c for generic, 65c for candy bars. I'll get them all at roughly half that except for the name brand sodas.

I do not know if it will work, but I have hopes! My son and I are doing that together to teach him about business.

Don't you need some sort of vendor permit? I understand that kiddie lemonade stands don't get busted for this but the adult presence might be an issue

next time you're riding on the community trail pick up cans and recycle.
you'll be cleaning the trail, helping the environment, and putting quite a few nickles in your pocket.

Ways to make money:

1. inherit money from REALLY rich parents

2. marry a rich bimbette (male or female variety, negotiable depending on your state)

3. make something you can sell

4. do something someone will pay you to do

5. spend less

just remember -- the creation of wealth requires trading your time and talent for other people's money. If you try to start a business, you will probably wind up working three times harder than you ever thought possible. There's no way for wealth to generate itself while you are outside having fun riding your bike. You'll have to work at it, just like everything else.

Unless you look so cute in diapers and with your head shaved bald that Warren Buffet will adopt you. Then you can go back up to the first option on the list.

I so want to hear the Pup weigh in on this one.

I would do something easy, like panhandle on street corners. I stood in front of my loft in Dallas one night and made $20 plus saying "money for beer, money for pizza." Got a pepperoni pie and a 12 pack of beer for about an hour of fun with friends.
