What would you do in the event of a zombie apocalypse?

I just finished watching the Dawn of the Dead remake and it got me thinking. In the event of sudden catastrophic zombie outbreak, what would you do to make your home zombie-proof? Would you migrate to a mall like the people in the movie? Would you ditch the bike for a semi-truck?

Assume that the zombies are running zombies and if they get to you, you're screwed.

I thought it might be a good idea to set yourself up in a place like WalMart, or a hardware store. You could barricade yourself inside and construct primitive medieval fortifications.

Ummm. I'm thinking Wal-Mart wouldn't be that good of a place. Wal-Mart or any place where lots of people as you saw from the movie were zombified in mere minutes. No your best place would be alone in your house or driving away 80mph

Hide in a Waffle House, they are prepared for such incursions.
1.) They are open 24/7 but still have locks on the doors. Why else but to keep the zombies out.
2.) They have a counter. As we all know one can defend yourself from hordes of zombies from behind a bar.
3.) There is food and other supplies. Plus the smell of the grease covers the smell of brains.
4.) Men's and women's restrooms. Very important during a long siege.
5.) Juke Boxes. During the battle the proper soundtrack is vital to victory.
6.) And if you stay in a Waffle House past 2:00 a.m. you look like a zombie anyway. Blend and evade.

Indeed it would. Everyone in there is already brain dead. I jest....
I would hide in the library. I really can't see zombies going there.

Problem with the aircraft carrier is that you'll be surrounded by a bunch of military personnel and let's face it, most of the 'end of the world' movies have taught us that the military will turn into an evil ruthless organization persecuting hapless civilians while incompetently trying to combat the plague/zombie horde/commies.

Besides, what if the aircraft carrier's reactor malfunctions? What about all the supplies needed to keep such a city afloat?

The water is a good idea though. The problem with that is the capriciousness of the sea and managing your food supply. In the olden days, they could go for years on sailing boats, so I'm sure it could be done with a determined crew.

I agree about wal mart; anywhere with tons of people would be a bad idea. One of them will play the damn fool and be like 'dont shoot him he's my brother!' and let a zombie into the compound, to the ruin of everyone else. But you can only survive in your home for so long, and i don't think a house could withstand a determined zombie attack.

That would be me. Or I could hide in a gun store, or a convience store in a bad part of town. Bars on anything glass is a big plus.
