Whats a case of beer cost in your area?

Miller , Bud ,Coors cost about $15 a case in western PA . I drink micro brews but I`d like to get a feel for current beer prices across our nation.

When you say a case I am assuming you are meaning a carton of 24? The reason I am confused is that if that is the case, then I am getting absolutely ripped down here in Australia. I hope you are saying what a 6 pack would cost you.

Trying to make a comparison here the cheapest I've seen Budweiser (why you would choose to drink it I don't know) was for $39.99 when it wsa on special, that is a bout $34 (USD).

For me I normally pay $44(AUD) on my normal beer, this is $37 (USD). My expensive beer I will pay around $54 (AUD) = $46(USD). And the cheap stuff that and surprisingly still tastes better than Budweiser costs me $30 (AUD) = $25 (USD).

A 12 pack of Budweiser (cans) is about 11.50 here. Busch (which I prefer over Bud) is about 7.50.

I don't buy more than I can wipe out in a week. I buy quality brews a six pack at a time, and those are about $7-9 each.

I used to pay A$50 for a carton of James Squire and the same for James Boag/Becks/Heineken. I once paid A$77 for a carton of Hoegaarden. I think VB/XXXX/Carlton Cold etc is cheaper but it's also sh!te.

I bought 3 X 20 Becks the other day for 20.00. Grolsch is usually 10.00 for 20 bottles at the local supermarket.

It's around $7 for a 12 pack of PBR, $7 for a sixer of Corona, $7-$9 for a six pack of most micro brews and Optimator is about $12 for a six pack. Liquor is expensive here, but I stick to beer.

I'm happy to say I haven't a clue.

I can tell you the cost of a 6-pack of Mike's Hard Lemonade though. Or perhaps the cost of a .750L of Grand Marnier?

If I'm feeling like cheap beer, there's a store down the street where I can get tallboys of PBR for a buck a piece. I don't normally drink that though.

I think I pay $22 for a case of Fat Tire. I've also bought their Skinny Dip summer beer, that was $24.

The last case that I bought was Cottonwood Hazelnut Stout. They only did one batch of it. Hand numbered bottles. I know someone who works for the distributor, so I got it for $50. They were selling it for $10 a bottle at the bar(it wasn't distributed to any stores).

A 24 case of MGD (bottles) is ~$40 here... Not sure about other beers since I've never bought them, I think Blue and stuff are around $25-30 CAD for a 24 of cans.

12 pack of Coors or comparable, any where from 8-12 depending on the store.

a 12 of something decent 12-16 depending on the store

a 12 (or 2 sixes) of something good 16-24 depending on the store, and if it's offered in 12's or just 6's.

In WV: Miller, Bud, Natural Light, etc all go for between $11 & $15 per case (24 cans) -- Low Taxes!

Coors, Rolling Rock - a few bucks more.

Not much cheaper than that around here, if any cheaper at all. I can usually find it for around $13-$14.

30 pack of High Life or PBR or Old Style for $11 or $12 around here.

6 more beers for less money than the equivalent crap beers Bud/MGD/Lite

Gotta be cold as all get out from the cooler to drink 'em, but the summer's the perfect time for that.

It's been so long since I've bought the cheap stuff I couldn't even tell you, I think Miller Light 18 packs are maybe $14 or so regular price? The one cheapie I do occasionaly buy (nothing else is available) is Nattie Light, it is usually $9.99/24. The good stuff I buy (Bass, micros...etc) range anywhere from $7-12+ a sixer and the homebrew I make myself runs maybe $10-12 for 5 gallons (~50-55 - 12oz. bottles).

I'm jealous of you guys that can actually run out to the store and buy Fat Tire, I love that stuff! It is one of the many reasons I want to move to Colorado.

**Edit** Natural Light is $9.99/24, not 12

A single 22 oz bottle of Fat Tire in a Chicago area grocery store is usually 2.99

We don't get 'em in 6-packs for some dumb reason.

In AL you get Bud and the like for about $17-18 a case. Coor's is cheaper than that here. MGD is cheaper still. Becks, Heine's, Corona, etc usually about $23-$25. (@ Sam's Club - best regular prices).

I have a favorite grocery store that when they have a special sale, it's screamin'. Bought Sam Adams 12 packs for $5.99, etc. Just can't get that everyday, though.

So much for trying to choose a standard, readily-available brand for national/international price-comparison purposes. I understand what you're trying to do, Glenn, even though I (and you) don't drink these.

I'll try to find the price on a case and report back, but the 12-pk price for these at the local grocery store is $7.99. Would be cheaper at a discount wine/beer store, and I'll check that, too.

Edit: Ok. At the discount store: a case of 24 of any of these is $13.99 for cans, $16.58 for bottles.

Here there's almost never any difference in regular can/bottle prices. Though in some brands the bottles almost always go on sale, like Bud, where others it's usually the cans.

I was thinking the same thing...I know off the top of my head what a six-pack of Kiltlifter is ($7.99 with the club card) but that doesn't help much with comparisons!

I had to go look, too. Here in Phx it's about $16-18/case of Miller or Bud.

The big three (Bud, Miller, and Coors) are usually between .75 and 1.00 per can/bottle. Depends on the store, area, and maybe how drunk you are.
