    Paypal's resolution center

Anybody have experience with this? I am filing a paypal claim for a motherboard I bought on eBay. Has your experience with the resolution process been a positive one? If the seller doesn't respond, do I get a refund?

Bad experience, mostly based on their advice. Is your claim "Significantly not as described" or "Not recieved" ?

Have had 2-3 experiences with PayPal customer support, one was extended (many calls), and both were abyssmal. Terrible customer service, to the extent that the only logical explanation is they are flat out lying or making stuff up.

Keep careful records. The problem is if the seller waits until the dispute is entered, they could send you a box of junk and you can't change the dispute type. At that point, you only have ebay feedback (this is eBay, right?) to fall back on and that isn't much.

Yeah, keep careful records. Print out every email and correspondence you've had with the seller AND ebay staff. I haven't had any good results from PayPal disputes, lost thousands of dollars.

In that case PC, it all depends if the seller can provide a valid tracking number. No number, the lose, you get a refund. If they have a tracking number, they win, you go empty handed.

Motto of the day... Know thy seller.

    Used it twice.

    1st claim, not received. Lost.

2nd claim was against me, item not as described. Sent out a good looking slightly used shock, got back a slightly used shock that looked like the buyer tried to steam the decals off & did not suceed, so represented the purchased shock's appearance as totally f*****. Whatever. Be careful what you purchase, do not depend upon that resolution center to protect your rights.

Use a credit card and refute the charges instead next time. Paypal resolution sucks, two bad experiences.

Note that if the charge to Paypal comes off a credit card, this resolution process still works. In my case, I was able to get half of my money back.

It's then up to Paypal to get the money from the seller. I think they are slightly biased towards sellers, and this may be part of it. YMMV.

Well, the seller left me + feedback saying "Great buyer, fast payment". He replied to one email, that was where I asked him what his paypal address was so I could pay him (the "pay now" feature has not been working for me for the last few months). He replied quickly. I've not heard from him since. Since the shipping he offered was "Standard flat rate shipping", I have a feeling there is no tracking.

Wow, this was quick. I just got a full refund. I really wanted that motherboard, and I am sick of not having a computer. Should I leave negative feedback for my troubles?

How long were you waiting anyway? I got a pre-paid SIM-card on eBay and the guy said it was going to take 3-4 business days, up to 9. Well, on the 12th (10th busines day) it wasn't here and he was shipping from California too! So I sent him an email asking what's up and he said he'd send me another one. WHAT!@#%$* Then I said I'll wait until next week and if the 2nd one doesn't show up, I'm going to ask for a refund. He went ahead and refunded my money. But I would've rather gotten the card. I suspect he never sent out the original one in the 1st place. I'm definitely going to leave negative feedback.

Item was paid for June 7, 2007.
I wouldn't mind waiting a little over two weeks if I had any sort of contact at all with the guy! All his feedback seems to say "Great seller, fast shipment". He does not have (did not have) any negatives.

Okay, this guy just requested a mutual feedback withdraw. I don't think accepting it is an option for me. He screwed up, he damn well deserved his negative. And, he gave me positive. So if I accept, it hurts ME and not him. Should I politely reply no? Or just do nothing.

I am just starting a resolution process now with paypal. The guy in China sent item to my account address. I never changed it and now it is a vacant lot. I have ALL emails and papeerwork showing I had proper shipping addresses were sent and all correct info. He [guy in China] failed to R.E.A.D proper shipping address. He just assumed to ship to account address. We will see what happens.

Have you tried PayPal's strong arm resolution center?

    It's called "HeyPal."

My pal Vinnie wants to much to go to Shanghai and "resolve" this issue. Besides, it was only a couple hundred in pure silk.

Most sellers will only ship to the paypal address. Not his fault you didn't update your information.

If it hurts you, then forget him. It took him, what, a day or two to respond to your feedback, and yet he can't respond to your questions about where your product is for two weeks? Screw him. Ignore his request. He might try to complain to eBay about it, but he has no legitimate claim.

I'd ignore him. I don't know how the feedback withdrawing system works, but I kind of get the feeling if you were to go through with this, he'd turn around and give you negative feedback in retaliation.

You were a good customer, and got positive feedback for your efforts. He was an awful seller and, I assume, got the feedback he deserved. Leave it at that.
