Cost of custom touch up paint?

A few weeks ago I noticed some scratches on my car's paint. So, I went ahead and bought factory replacement paint online. Well, it really doesn't match all that well. In fact, it's pretty awful. My car's finish is 14 years old, and probably faded in color. I actually like the color that it is now quite a bit, and want to preserve that finish. Does anybody know what the average cost is to have an auto body shop mix up a jar of touch up paint? I don't need enough to repaint half the car, just enough to cover some scratches before they rust.

My car is 18 years old with 18 year old paint, and i got the touch up bottle of paint through Honda and it matches pretty well. To answer your question, my brother had his BMW repainted the stock color, not sure if it was actual BMW paint as they said but it cost around $3,000. For your car, i would say something like $1500-$2500.

Take it down to Mexico and get the whole thing repainted. You can get an amazing job with excellent prep-work unlike most of the stuff you'll see here in the U.S. Such as all the rubber taped off, no overspray on the glass, etc. Using banned stuff like DuPont Imron for zero orange-peel. The paint looks like it was poured on and you're afraid to touch it because it's so glossy, it looks wet! All for $50.

Whether you like the paint or not, if the paint is oxidized, you'll never get it right...so take some rubbing compound to it (hand rub, and GENTLY) rub the paint out a bit to bring back the trus color....it will still be off, but it will at least have the proper shine to it.

Now, go to an automotive paint shop, ask for a custom blend. It should be $60 or less for a pint (custom paints can be pricey...the patriot red metal flake my regal had was DAMN pricey...I have no idea why the previous owner spent on that).
