Considering HIgh Speed Cable......

Has anybody ever tried Earthlink cable, and if so, do you know anything about this deal?

I'm concerned about the part that says 'Prices subject to change without notice'?

The quote is from their website...........

"Actual download and upload speeds may vary depending on cable service provider. Prices starting as low as $29.95/mo depending on speed of service (Your service will be billed @$29.95 per month). Prices subject to change without notice. Offer available to select new EarthLink High Speed subscribers only. Available to residential subscribers in some Time Warner Cable/Brighthouse Network serviceable areas only. Certain taxes and other fees may apply. Cancellation must be made by phone, U.S. mail, or fax before the next billing period begins to prevent further charges. Other restrictions may apply. Free Residential High-Speed Data Installation Fees cover 1 laptop or desktop PC/MAC and require the PC have a Network Card. Free installation value of $99 based on average TWC Division cost structure. Actual value may vary."

I average 4GB up per day and around 10-20GB down depending on what im doing, so far TW hasnt said squat about it.

I assume that Earthlink is just buying bandwidth from Time Warner, but the price increases are still in the hands of Earthlink, and I can't afford Time Warner cable.

Thanks.........

I use Insight BB for my access (Cable) and get a 10 meg /\ and \/ rate on average, sometimes better. All non contracted carriers are subject to price change without notice, but they do at least have to ell you before they implement them....they can't just say OK, we upped your rate last month and bill retroactively.

I LUV my cable access though!

It is well worth going to cable internet. I've got COmcast, I think we pay 40 a month or something close to it. All companies offering services have a disclaimer saying "prices subject to change". Just as all manufacturers have a little disclaimer saying "All specifications subject to change without notice". It's a fact of life

There should be no "considering" at all. When I click on a page full of pics, I get them NOW. That is what I pay for. Not a half a pic every 10 seconds.
