Way to go to the real killer bee. Thankfully it was his 3000 hit, not his 3000 hit by pitch.

In his case I would say yes. But that may not apply to everyone the way it used to.

Biggio is likely a first ballot Hall of Famer, there aren't many people saying he won't get in on the first ballot.

Besides that, do you think everyone that reaches the 500 HR plateau should be an instant hall of famer?

Frank Thomas hit his 500th HR...

But guys like Sosa that passed the 600 HR mark... with his alleged steroid use... will he get in?

It's funny, at the time of his mark the news was praising him for how a prolific hitter he is and so on... but did not mention anything about alleged doping.

What about McGwire and Bonds? Will they be inducted?

What gets me is that baseball acts like they never saw this train coming even when McGwire and Sosa were chasing Maris. Everyone knew... but because baseball was in the dumps and those guys pretty much brought baseball back to the American fore-front as America's Game everyone turned their cheek to doping. A lot had to do with the way they were. They were likeable and media friendly, something Bonds is not.

Yet, now these once celebrated and loved heroes are criminals. Why do we and the media build people up and just tear them down?

That was "the question" on the shows aired on the FM Sports radio station for Houston. Dan Patrick asked Thomas if he felt his was going to the HOF. Thomas answered with "As of yesterday, yes".

Back to Biggio. Can anyone confirm that he and only 8 others of the 27 in the "3000" club played for the same team the whole time?

Confirmed. Baseball-reference.com is your source. See: http://www.baseball-reference.com/le...H_career.shtml

You need to click through each of the individual players to see it for yourself, but I can shorten the process for you. The answer is "yes."

Biggio and Bagwell should both be first ballot HOFers. They've meant more to the Astros franchise than anyone else over the years, including Nolan Ryan.

Bonds can't even get elected to the Al Star game.....

It would be hard to keep Bonds out of the HOF, especially if he beats Hammerin' Hank. But the votes are cast by sportswriters, and there is no love lost there.......

^^^^ Yes- The sports writers hate Bonds with a passion. I doubt he will be a first vote HOF for just that reason.
