My son, age 7, the bike snob.

so, I get this call from my wife today saying, "You've ruined the 7 year old."

Me: What now?
Her: Well, they got these little toys from the dentist and were playing with them in the car on the way home. Brennan's didn't work right and what do I hear from the back seat but, "This toy is about as useful as a Wal-Mart bike."
Me: uncontrollable laughter.

So, there you have it, my son is a bike snob.

(When later asked about it, his reply was that, just like a Wal-Mart bike, the toy was cheap and junky and broke too easily).

That's my boy!!

Brilliant!! I like your kid.

Also goes to show what a font of information Foo is. I didn't know that Wally-World sold bikes. I knew they sold cheap-ass rolling lawn ornaments that have two wheels and handlebars, but I didn't know about the bikes. Something to watch out for.

My kids are a little older, but they are the same way. Actually my daughter had a very nice Redline mini when she was racing BMX, and she was 5 then, and understood that she had a nice bike.

You bought him the Gary Coleman road bike? That's the name I gave it when we started carrying them.

It's never too early to acquire an appropriate level of snobbery.
