Upgrade

Alright... I'm fed up. I've tried to appreciate the fact that my wife is a light sleeper so I have slept in another room since my surgery on Monday. Wednesday night slept on the other end of the house because my incoherent drug induced babble was bothering her. Not only did she take away the phone before going to bed, she shut the bedroom door and took a tranquillizer, too. After I fell getting up and falling in the middle of the night I lay in the floor for an hour calling for help, and I thought surely she would let me sleep in my own $3000 sleep number bed with someone to monitor me. No such luck. Slept in the living room floor on an air bed with inadequate covering all night. This morning she told me that it was only logical because I wasn't able to sleep anyway, and both of us shouldn't have to suffer. I never thought when I married her she would treat me this way. I am in serious ****ing need of a wife upgrade!
Sorry you guys are getting to listen to all the rants, but damn, this has been a ****ty 2 weeks, and this seems to be my only contact with the outside world besides my boss right now.

Man up, - and do what you have to do; pour out a bottle of shampoo and conditioner on her side of the bed. (under the covers of course - so she doesn't realise what you've done until after she get's into bed). After she discovers that something is amiss - inform her that you've poured out a bottle shampoo and conditioner on her half of the bed and that she will be have to find other sleeping accomidations for the time being. Most importantly though - pls inform us of the outcome. (Pls, Don't forget that part).

Why ruin the bed pouring stuff in it. Just tell her it is your turn in the nice bed and she can sleep wherever else she wants.

((hugs)) Just remember, it could be worse. What if you had no possibility of recovering at all?

Patience, baybuh. In a couple more weeks, at worst, this will all be a memory, and you'll be back to snuff.

+1...that's some harsh treatment...not what I would expect from somebody who "loves" you. I'd be having some serious talks about that.

Tell her to suck it up and learn to sleep with noise. Her logic is self serving, defeating the logic of it.

I hate parents (and it probably goes that far back) who baby their kids from noise during sleep. Make a ****ing racket, lots of noise, get them used to sleeping in tough conditions and they will sleep in anything. I could sleep through almost any noises. Now my insomnia causes other problems, but thats beside the point

Yeah, maybe time for an upgrade. I always heard that v1.0 had a few bugs.

Sorry to hear about your problem. If my wife treated me like that when I was "under the weather" I'd be more than a little PO'd.

I feel for you. I've had a couple surgeries and my wife has done everything she could to make life easy for me during those times. Man, I love her.

Now, if I have the flu it's a little different. She is somewhat of a germophobe. She'll only be in the same room if she has a mask, gloves and a can of Lysol.

Gee golly, and you married this woman? "In sickness and in health" my @ss!!!

When I had the flu in Feb. my GF slept on the couch to let me have the comfy bed. Made me meals and everything. Even snuggled and tucked me in each night, even though she knew she was gonna catch it too...

I'd tell you to go pay some hookers to knock your junk around, but she probably has your nuts in a jar by the side of the bed.

D.I.V.O.R.C.E. And preferably throw her a nasty infection on your way out too.

Seriously, I'm sorry for that crap. But again, seriously, you married WHAT? That sounds like a succubus in its final stages of consumption.

GET. OUT.

Yeah, everybody who's unhappy with your spouse at this particular moment--why don't you all go out and get a divorce, rather than speaking with him/her about your issues? I'm not saying that she's not in the wrong here, but either something else is going on in the marriage that's causing her to refuse to let him sleep in their bed, or she is a witch. But TALK about it.

(Mod edited for thread clean-up.)

Bleh, talk is cheap:

Oh honey, I wuv you SO MUCH, forever!
I'll take care of you when you're sick.
I'll do anything to make you happy
...

However, actions speak louder than words... He goes out and bangs his secretary and her sister and says:

Oh sweetie, I only love YOU!
Everyone else is just sex, I felt nothing for them...
We'll always be together...

Yeah right... endless talk that contradicts the actions. What are you gonna believe?

Recovering too

I mean I was pissed at the ex when he came in from a smelly drunk and got into bed and proceeded to fall asleep to his normal light snore - which I was used to - but unfortunately at those times he chose to lay on his side so he faced me (I like to sleep on my back) so he could then "puff/snore" out those fumes toward me.

Ugh.

I shoved him so he would roll over (good for a few moments of peace) - even put up a barracade of pillows to guard against the fumes. Bah. No workee. Couch for me.

Yeah, sounds like your wife has some serious issues man.

I would havde that worked out ASAP...someone who just had surgery sleeping on the couch is just bull****.

If she won't be reasonable, then I would just say fine, and go to a motel for the night. If she can't handle it, tough...she's the one being unreasonable and you deserve a proper sleep.

omg. Talk about regret for marriage.

I think before people get married couples should be required to go through a series of tests and challenges.

I'd seriously consider a marriage counselor. Barring that, a divorce attorney.
