If your thinking of buying a iphone on ebay

well, todays the day. at 6pm the world changes (again). People have been camping out at AT&T cell stores for days, the apple on-line store is saying expect up to 4 weeks to receive your phone, if you order on-line.

Maybe, you have to be the first to have one. If you go through ebay, make sure you are aware of the special rules:

# Criteria for Apple iPhone Post-Launch Sales. In order to continue to ensure protection for our Community after these items are made available by the manufacturer, the following requirements have been put in place for the sale of the iPhone:

* The listing must include a unique photograph of the item or items
* Your User ID must be clearly displayed within the photograph (watermarks will not be accepted).
Read all the details here at ebay.

You'd have to pay me to get me to use one.

If by change, you mean "has another damn telephone."

I like how eBay implies that the only safe way to buy things online is with their own payment service, Paypal.

Those are pretty much the same rules I had to follow when I sold seven or eight PS3's and a Wii.

Seriously, another thread about iphones. Enjoy your pretty second rate phone locked into a single provider. Kind of feels like 10 years ago. We just finally started having mobile telco numbers, unlocked phones etc. Mac is setting us back all because its cute.

We haven't even been told what provider yet. Rogers at this point is the only official GSM subsriber with telus and bell coming up now. Hmm who are they going to try to lock the plans into...can't wait to find out so I can make fun of my canadian friends.

how soon until the first "cyclist hit by driver who drifted out of lane while surfing net on iPhone at 55 mph?"

As cool as the technology is, people need to get some silence once in a friggin' while.

Here is the text

***Listing Policy Clarifications: Apple iPhone Pre-Sales and Post-Launch Sales***
June 08, 2007 | 01:10PM PST/PT

Here are listing policy clarifications that we are implementing effective immediately:
  • Apple iPhone Pre-Sales are prohibited. This highly-anticipated device will be in high demand after the US release on June 29th, 2007. Prior to the release of similar high-demand electronics, we saw a high number of well-intentioned sellers unable to meet their pre-sale obligations to buyers due to restricted supply, as well as an increase in fraudulent listings for these items. To prevent similar problems with the iPhone, eBay is prohibiting all pre-sales of this device.
  • Criteria for Apple iPhone Post-Launch Sales. In order to continue to ensure protection for our Community after these items are made available by the manufacturer, the following requirements have been put in place for the sale of the iPhone:
    • The listing must include a unique photograph of the item or items
    • Your User ID must be clearly displayed within the photograph (watermarks will not be accepted).
    • To ensure buyer protection, PayPal must be the only accepted form of payment
Sellers will also be notified of these requirements during the listing process when using the Sell Your Item form.

If you want to surf the internet on the go, buy a laptop. If you want to listen to music on the go, buy a Mp3 player. If you want to talk to somebody on the go, buy a cell phone. Besides the internet connection on the Iphone is less than 56k. No thanks.
