I got beat up by a car once. Then the asphalt jumped in.

Aside from that, not really. I've never really been enough on someone's bad side for something like that to happen.

What, you think if you say no, someone is going to jump out from behind the sofa and beat the hell out of you?

Not to the point of being hospitalized. Broken ribs, a bloddy nose and a black eye from sparring are about it.

Did they stand in a circle, only one of them attacking at a time, allowing you to dispense of them individually? That's how it works in movies, and I think that's really convenient.

Yes, I gave as good as I got though.

I lost a couple of molars, fractured cheekbone and a 6"slash down my rigtht chest.

He wound up in the hospital longer than I did though, I got some stitches and pain meds and went home. He was wearing plaster and in a hospital bed. Never rob a practical pacifist! I believe in pacifism, but will defend if no other option is there for me. He left me no options.

My old man used to beat us as kids pretty bad, didn't stop 'till we were old enough to fight back, but I remember one time taking a beating that caused my hearing to get all funky for about a week or so.
When I was locked up I got into quite a few fights that ended up with me on the ground thinking of a happy place.
But there was this one time that I got the ever lovin' **** beat out of me outside of a bar in Rankin County Mississippi. I wasn't even a patron of the bar either. I had just parked behind there to take a nap while I was passing thru. A couple of guys from the bar were pretty likkered up and looking for a fight and I guess I was an easy target sleeping in the bed of my truck on a chase lounge. I was laying there alseep when they grabbed me and pulled me onto the concrete, hitting my head pretty hard, then they commenced to kick the hell out of me. I wasn't even able to fight back because of hitting my head, I was pretty much out for the entire fight (if you want to call it a fight). Still got a few scars from it.
Now boys and girls, that's an ass woopin'!!

This thread brings to mind one of my favorite classic country music songs.

But everybody they said watch out, hey, that's the Tiger Man McCool
He's had the whole lotta fights and he's always come out winner
Yeah, he's a winner.

But I had myself about five too many and I walked up tall and proud
I faced his back and I faced the fact that he had never stooped or bowed
I said, Tiger Man you're a *****cat and a hush fell on the crowd
I said, let's you and me go outside and see who's the winner.

Well, he gripped the bar with one big hairy hand then he braced against the wall
He slowly looked up from his beer, my God that man was tall
He said, boy, I see you're a scrapper so just before you fall
I'm gonna tell you just a little 'bout what it means to be a winner.

He said now you see these bright white smilin' teeth. you know they ain't my own
Mine rolled away like Chicklets down the street in San Antone
But I left that person cursin', nursin' seven broken bones
And he only broke ah three of mine, that makes me the winner.

He said, now behind this grin I got a steel pin that holds my jaw in place
A trophy of my most successful motorcycle race
And each morning when I wake and touch this scar across my face
It reminds me of all I got by bein' a winner.

Now this broken back was the dyin' act of a handsome Harry Clay
That sticky Cincinnati night I stole his wife away
But that woman she gets uglier and she gets meaner every day
But I got her boy, that's what makes me a winner.

He said, you gotta speak loud when you challenge me son,
'Cause it's hard for me to hear
With this twisted neck and these migraine pains and this big ole cauliflower ear
And if it wadn't for this glass eye of mine, why, I'd shed a happy tear
To think of all that you gonna get by bein' a winner.

I got arthritic elbows boy, I got dislocated knees
From pickin' fights with thunderstorms and chargin' into trees
And my nose been broke so often I might lose if I sneeze
And son, you say you still wanna be a winner?

Now you remind me a lotta my younger days,
With your knuckles a clenchin' white
But boy I'm gonna sit right here and sip this beer all night
And if there's somethin' that you gotta gain to prove by winnin' some silly fight
Well okay, I quit, I lose, you're the winner.

So I stumbled from that barroom, not so tall and not so proud
And behind me I still hear the hoots of laughter of the crowd
But my eyes still see and my nose still works and my teeth're still in my mouth
And you know I guess that makes me the winner...

Never been beaten up but I did kick some kids ass once. Caught him trying to spraypaint my car one night in a down town parking lot so i jumped him from behind and beat him until he didn't get up for more. He was breathing but not in the best of condition. I hate ******s, they act like gangsters with none of the actual ability.

Kind of on topic although it doesn't involve me directly- My friend took on a gang of 5 kids that jumped him in high school. He threw the gang leader at the other punks. It takes a tough and muscular guy to pick up over his head and throw a 175 pound guy after having his jaw broken by a sucker punch, and with enough force to hurt people that get hit by him, but that's what he did. He beat the crap out of all 5 of them without any help. He got that broken jaw and took some other hits, and they all got various injuries. In the end, all 6 of them went to the hospital, and about half of them were expelled. I saw it from a far distance an ran to go help him, but the schools cop stopped it before I got there. Not that it mattered, the fight was about done. It was quite a sight. Street fighters like my friend with nothing but real world experience are quite something.

Parking outside a bar in rural Misssissippi would not be my first choice of a "resting" area.

When I was 5 or 6, I had to watch my old man beat the daylights out of my Mom. I could not do a thing. It was much more traumatic than a lot of what I have read here. I would gladly have taken a beating from the old man than to watch Mom get beat down to a nub.

Siu, no I've never been beaten up. Just the usual child/teenhood roughing up but never anything serious.

Sometimes I wonder if it would have done me good to get beaten up at least once.
