Toyota FJ cruiser?

The FJ cruiser looks like a nice vehicle for around town, but I don't know anyone who owns one. Anyone have any thumbs up or down on this?

(I'm still debating between one of these versus an Element for my next vehicle.)

Haven't read through the reviews but doesn't look very good (2.5/5 based on user opinions).

Yes on the real FJ40! Them's cool. Didn't realize it was a Chevy I6 knockoff in there, though. No wonder they all have 350s in 'em nowadays.

Those older looking Land Cruisers are all over the place down here. They are really popular. Hella expensive though.

Not really, concidering a "New" FJ40 will cost you $24 Grand...Can you imangine the "Go Anywhere" critter you could build with one of these and $10,000...and it would still come in less than a new one!! Using Chevy parts,The wrecking yard is your best friend!!! I've seen NICE ones for about $5000

I love my Element. And the 2007s have a better seat belt setup.

Lots of people hate em (not sure why they can they can aggrivate people so much), but I enjoy mine. I've got the EX-P so it doesn't have all the plastic stuff on the sides. And the "stadium seating" in the back gets a lot of compliments for passengers. I think it's just kind of a cool car.

But the FJ Cruisers look nice too!

Test drive them both and get what you like. Damn the naysayers!

Coworker has the new FJ. Exterior is large, giving you a little more 'muscle' in traffic, but makes fitting in parking spaces difficult. The inside is SMALL for the bulk of the exterior in my opinion.

If you're going to call a Subaru ugly, the Outback isn't exactly tops on that list. The B9 Edsel, er, Tribeca is the Mother Of All Fugly.

The Outback is rather plain and inoffensive in comparison.

No. I don't even have to read the thread. No. Poor gas mileage, and everyone and his brother now has one -- and they're all that blue color.

I've seen some yellow and red ones around town. And baby blue-ish.

I just googled it and I was mistaken, I was talking about the Land Rover Defender. Those are all over the place. And they are hella expensive down here. By "down here," I mean Barbados.
