OK, suggestion. Download AOL client, it comes with pretty good package of antivirus sw and it is very easy to use too.

Or google for TROJ Generic to learn more - actually that should be the first thing to do.

spysweeper used to have a free program that did a nice job, Lavasoft Adaware is also a nice free tool I have used in the past.

Download AVG anti spyware. I think it comes with a 30 day free trial. Trojan type virsus can't just be deleted and they can affect other files without you knowing it. It's best to get something like AVG

Super anti spyware is cool too. It gets a lot of stuff that Ad-Aware & SpyBot miss.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Actually, AVG offers a completely free version as well as their paid version. I use the free version and the only difference is that with the paid version you get support. This support, by the way is 99% of the time telling you to uninstall, reinstall a clean copy and update it.

Hey, if they go to all that effort to make a virus, why do they help people get rid of them?

Carefully follow the directions listed here: http://www.claymania.com/removal-trojan-adware.html

Print them out if you can, to refer to while disinfecting your computer. Also view and/or print the various instructions and/or "readme.txt" files that come with the various programs listed at the above link.

For procedure #2, I uploaded the multi_av executable from my PC to the link below, as the site that the above link gives for obtaining it seems to be down.

http://haxxors.org/~monger/Multi_AV.exe (Right click and choose "save as" or "save link as". Remember where you save it)

When using the multi-av app per procedure #2, the McAfee choice will not work, as it requires a license from them. The other three AV apps will work fine tho (Sophos, Trend, and Kav.)
