At least. You should play guitar hero, it does wonders for your confidence

In all seriousness though, it has made my pinky stronger

I dunno... i never had a problem with playing GH... I was able to beat it on expert almost right away, with a few songs I had to do two or perhaps three times. The secret, I think, is with the fast sections is to spot the pattern of two or three notes and 'fake it'. This way, you'll hit enough of them to carry you through at least until you can use some star power to save yourself.

I'm currently in the process of trying to finish the game with all 5 stars, at least for the main set of songs (some of the bonus songs I don't know about) For the PS2 version I've got 5 stars all the way until John the Fisherman, with the exception of tattooed love boys (I don't know what it is about that song). From there, I have 4 stars on all the songs except misirlou and psychobilly freakout.

There's other ways to strengthen a pinky.

That is how I play. It seriously pisses off my friends who try and hit every note (playing vs winning mentality? I dunno).

Trying to match some of those fast sections, note for note, will drive you insane. There may be people out there that can do it, but their highscore compared to mine would probably be negligible. I suppose that would only really matter if you were counting points in a competition or something.

I finished YYZ on expert with 96%.
On Xbox360. The buttons are harder to press on Xbox.

Slightly motivated by GTH, my little sister, (who is pretty good singer), her boyfriend (who is a pretty bad guitarist), my mother (who before tonight had never picked up a bass), and myself who is in the proccess of teaching myself the drums...

We went through it once, and then recorded "Wish you were here" by pink Floyd on the'ol 8-track. It turned out horrible, but really...not all that bad, considering :-)

Why not actually practice on a real guitar, rather than practice to beat the game? I'm not dissing.. I just am not understanding (never played).

So.. you could be spending the same time and effort to learn to play a real instrument, but instead you use this same time and energy to beat a game instead -? ..No, wonder you guys say you suck at guitar.. for real. -?

In a weird sort of way, I sometimes miss the days of playing for 6-10 hours a day.....
