They should do the same thing for speeding tickets, since driving dangerously puts the employee at risk of injury or death. Both can mean lost productive time AND a possible increase in premiums the employer pays to the insurance company. Oh! And alcohol! Donuts ain't the only thing contributing to those ever-expanding waists. And, don't you know, if you consume more than three drinks a day, you're an alcoholic and are heading down a one-way street of poor mental and physical health. Holy PPO, Batman! Then there's sex. If you're not married and are involved with multiple sex partners then your chance of contracting a sexually transmitted disease greatly increases! Some of them are even fatal! Gay male sex is way out since they're traditionally a very promiscuous group. Or worse (and much, much, MUCH more expensive), you or your partner could get pregnant. Oh man, and then there's the whole realm of mental health. You better have a happy marriage because if you're depressed or stressed out not only will it affect your work, but your health care provider (and then you're employer) will have to pick up most of the tab you run up in therapy. And you really shouldn't engage in any kind of physically demanding sport. Racing bicycles is dangerous and often leads to injury. Same with running or any sport that involves a lot of running. My brother fractured his elbow a month ago because he slipped on a slick patch while running. You think he went to work the next day? Hell no! And who do you think picked up most of the medical cost? The poor 'ol insurance company, that's who. It's a shame, all these people only thinking about themselves. We must all band together and protect the interests of the corporations that put food in our mouths and the insurance companies that keep us happy and healthy and free! Amen!
Sorry for the hyperbole, but work can go **** itself as far as my private life is concerned. It's a line of behavior that always makes me cringe. Especially when it's encouraged by the people it's attempting to control.
