Great Day Today

I'm opening up a little here so be gentle...

Last year I went to a local county fair and listened to a young lady sing some Americana songs. One of them was a song she wrote about not being there to say goodbye to the members of the armed forces.

Her song was so heartfelt that it brought tears to my eyes, it affected me enough for me to write a song in reply.

Today I went to this years county fair and she was back singing again, I waited until she was done and went up to her and told her how much her song meant to me and that I wrote a song in reply. Then I got brave and asked her if I could sing it for her and she agreed.

As I was singing it she closed her eyes and listened, then her tears started flowing and I had to stop looking at her so I could finish the song. When I was done she gave me a big shuddering hug and held on.

Apparantly it made an impression on her, and minutes later she told me she was going to make a cd and that she may want me to sing my song on her cd. What a surprise!

Well this is the short version of what happened but I am still emotionally drained and on a high. I had been waiting almost a year after I wrote it to be able to sing it for her. Her husband was there also and he thanked me a few times because I showed honor to his wife and he was pleased for her.

All in all a very good day.

By the way, don't let this affect your perception of me, I'm still the same old Steven.

Steven

By the way, I had to borrow her guitar to do this.

Her name is Beth Maybee (no joke) and she doesn't have a cd out yet. She is not really a known artist, just good local talent that is good enough to be booked at the fair each year for hour long gigs each day. Sometimes more than once a day.
She is just so sweet and nice.
I'm not so sure you would want to hear me, and I don't have a way to record my song and post it so you all are safe for now.

Thanks

Steven

When you do find a way, please let us hear. Perhaps if you ask, Tom may be able to help you, he records his music for us.

Thanks guys/gals
The lady mentioned is married and so am I, we are already lucky.

I would be lying if I said I didn't want to share it with everybody I can think of, but the tools needed are not in my posession, and I have been spending all my money on bike things.
