Music Downloads

Hi guys and gals,I just got a new MP3 player, and I'm looking for a good site to download some tunes. Where do you get your tunes? (and why?) Thanks for any help!

Itunes. Because I am a sheep and I'm too afraid of the RIAA to use Limewire.

Type "?intitle:index of? mp3" into Google, minus the quotes, with whatever song or artist you're looking for a space after mp3. You'll have to sift around the results for a little bit to find the correct listing, and when you do it'll be a link that you can save to your computer. A little difficult but totally free and no risk of spyware from downloading programs. It'll also be fairly hard to detect as long as you're not distributing the music.

Of course, iTunes is pretty easy to use and at 99 cents a song it's really not that bad.

rapidshare.com

Get an account, go to ForumW.org, create a free account, download unreleased movies and full cd's at full quality and it's completely untraceable. People upload the content to servers around the world through this European company and you download parts of the file and then decompress them.

I'm telling you, you can find absolutely anything. Insanely fast dl speeds (a movie in 10 mins, cd in 3mins) and download as much as you want.

Enjoy

eMusic subscription for most of my music for the past year or so. I use iTunes for anything that I want but can't find on eMusic.

I've downloaded music once with BitTorrent, but I don't get the whole sharing thing. I've given some music to family and a few friends, so I'm not going to get on some moral high horse, but from people I knew that used Napster back in the day or BT now, I think they need to own up to the fact that what they are doing is stealing...not "sharing".

Wait...I'm confused, I thought I was in Foo for a second there...what does this have to do with road biking (or biking at all), again??

Using bitTorrent is like letting your buddy use your soda cup at Burger King when you're done, because he ordered water.

Now if we wanted to talk about favorite cycling songs, well that might be appropriate!

And this relates to road cycling, how?

I was waiting for the OP to somehow work Bikes Direct into the question, but to no avail...

I love how everything after the second post save for is about illegally downloading music (which the OP didn't even specify) or other illegal material (also did not specify).

Good job people.

Not true. Unless you have a really, REALLY powerful one, magnet ain't gonna do jack****. They can recover the data.

A sledge hammer is the only way to be sure. Or a bucket of thermite.

But it doesn't really matter anyways, if they are coming on to you, that means they got your IP logged in and all you activities.

And IP is a personal identifier nowadays? Since when? Time to read up on some of the recent court rulings.

I hear ya - I don't do anything - maybe I would if I were at home, but not company computer - especially since it is a college ---- and especially since they've come down twice on on RIT here in the city for students downloading stuff.

Well the thing is, the RIAA sends out fake torrents and finds who downloads them and how much they are sharing for other people. They do the same on Limewire and the like. It is their main way of tracking people down and fining them. The thing with the Rapidshare account is that they cannot find out who is dl'ing the files because they would have to have a warrant to investigate the company but it's in Europe which is out of their jurisdiction. Anyway, give it a try if you want...it's pretty sweet.
