Skinny Dipping in Chicago: Another Beer Appreciation Thread

It's about time! After years of smuggling the stuff back from Colorado and then across the Mississippi from St. Louis, New Belgium Brewing finally started distributing Fat Tire Amber Ale to the Chicago area last year.

But it was only in 22 oz individual bottles. Huh? Yeah, I want to drink my beer out of something that looks like it should be in a paper sack on a street curb. (I only like my Colt 45 and Night Train that way )

Finally, they are selling six packs and twelve packs of Fat Tire and other brews in the area. Hallelujah!

Quaffing one of these right now and it is quite tasty. I recommend it as a cold summer treat:

    Yum.

Thank you, New Belgium. Thank you.

I love New Belgium beers... Sunshine Wheat is my favorite, but I don't like it in the bottle.

There is truly something magical about fat tire. My buddy's parents recently bought a house in Boulder and pretty much live there (..rich..) and he use to bring it back all the time. For some reason, i suspect because i had just started drinking beer, it took me a while to warm up to the stuff...but i'll tell ya, the stuff is just damn good.

And everyone knows, when 22oz bottles of good beer are good...they get you buzzed pretty quickly too.

I clicked because it said skinny dipping too. I was hoping there was a trip to Chicago to be planned in the future. I'm not sure it's worth a whole trip just for some beer. It better be some good beer. Though, it would be a plus if it was delivered by CM or April.

WTF - they have Fat Tire in Chitown and not in Madison, WI??? We are the epicenter of the drinking universe! I'm going to have to call in the superpowers (whoever that is at the moment) to remedy this situation!

    Damn!!!!!!!!!

I heard Explody Pup was nominated to become a superpower sometime soon. You may want to talk to him.

You in Middleton get access to the amazing road riding in the hills west of town, so we need something to even the score a little. Let us have our little victories here in small town america, yeah?

BTW, if you ever see this guy rocking the Fat Tire jersey on a ride, it just might be the mighty CyLowe97 (photo at end of Horribly Hilly Hundreds):

Yeah, we have some really sweet riding here. I guess it's OK you get the Fat Tire. If I do see that jersey here, you best move quickly or it will be hanging in my closet next!

Just let me know when you're going to be here. I'll have the cooler and the chairs set out on the beach for us. Or we could go out on my deck and dress like VV does on hers. Gotta keep that tan even.
