Warm whiskey with a couple of mint leaves bruised in the bottom of the glass before bed. It'll help numb a sore throat and make it easier for you to rest. There's not really any way to cure a cold other than letting your body fight it off. The rest will help with that.

Steam room or sauna for as long as you can stand it, breathing deep while in there.

Cut an onion in half, put one in each sock and go to bed. You'll feel great in the morning.

    There are none.

Help your body by keeping a light activity level (slow walks), and eat, sleep and drink well.
Avoid alcohol in any form or amount, as it depresses the immune system even in small amounts, prolonging the cold (in this case).

If you have a fever, avoid any medication that lowers the fever (paracetamol, for example), since the fever helps to get rid of the cold faster.

Unless it starts getting way too high. I start seeing things and raving at about 103 deg Fahrenheit (about 39.5 deg Celsius), and my housemates know it's time to make me take a fever reducer.

I find if I dress warm, I get over colds quicker. The first thing I do is put on my thick wool camping socks, esp. at night, in bed. Not much help on medication though. My standby cold med is Alka Seltzer Plus Cold.
