I need ideas!

Well I will have 11 days off work going from my current job to the new job.

I need to do something with my time or I'll go insane. Since I'm man-less and job-less for these days what should I do?? I've never really had a break inbetween jobs so this should be a fun time before I have to get all serious about my new job.

Help me out with ideas. I want to travel some, something that includes the bike. Mountain or road or BOTH.

Never been there, but hear it's beautiful.... Go out to Sonoma or Napa or somewhere in Northern California to ride.

Cycling, great weather, wonderful scenery, world class food, and wine. What more could you ask for?

You could go gonzo with Hunter ". . . two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers . . . and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls . . ."

Watch the ether. There is nothing more helpless and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge.

three or four two-day tours. Go, come back. Go, come back. Different parts of the state. Heck, head to Yellowstone and bike there. Go down to Santa Fe and take a spin.

I'm jealous, 11 days with no job and no significant other and I'd probably just grab the bikes, sleeping bag, and gas money and start driving....

The Good Doctor had his ashes strewn in a fireworks display at Owl Farm a few years ago.

I'm not sure that's the way Snowy wants to spend her free time....

No need to go to those extremes, is there? I mean like, many people follow Jesus, few have themselves nailed to a cross.

Yeah S.dex thats what I've been thinking just loading up my vehicle and drive west or something. I've just never traveled by myself before. Kinda scary for a girl like me.

Go to Vegas to get the road trip oout of the way, then pull the Hunter Thompson. Take along someone to play Dr. Gonzo to your Raoul. If you take the bike, refer to it as The Black Shadow. Oh, and as your attorney, I advise you to rent a big car with no top.

Snowy, how about taking a short trip so you can ride somewhere nice and then come back and build yourself up a hardtail out of a nice frame that nobody appreciates? Give it new life, you know what I mean?

Since you are arising into a new and wonderful stage in your life perhaps building up a bike from scratch would be representative of that. "A new life". Sorta like that old Trek that Mich sent me to keep me focused on moving ahead instead of worrying about the possibility of cancer.

Oh I get it. Yeah I think I'm definitely headed out on a road trip. Now just need to decide where.

When is your time off? I'm on vacation till the first (out of town with the bow from Aug 22-25), you are always welcome to come to visit. If you don't mind staying on a comfy couch.
