Wma to mp3 converter

I have a downloaded .wma file from Walmart music.com, that won't cooperate. I am trying to import it into movie maker but it says there are digital rights or some nonsense. I used to just rip to cd and this would remove that, but that doesn't work this time.

I need a free .wma to mp3 program. Anyone know of one?

Try a google search on some different converters, I used to have one on my laptop that I used to convert mp3's into WMA for more file space, but I don't remember which one it was. I know I have the "Plus!" mp3 converter, but I think that is a MS program that is associated with media player...not sure though. There are many reputable freeware sites out there to choose from.

Hate to tell you how to hack it but... get a stereo in / out cable. Connect the cable to your speaker check and then to your mike (sp?) Play and record at the same time.

It won't be as good as the original because it will go from digital to analog and back, but it will work.

I used a program called Protected Music Converter. It has a 14 day free trial.

I used Tunebite to convert a number of unprotected WMA files to MP3 for use on a WMA hostile device. I'm pretty sure it can do protected, might look at that. It uses the LAME DLL, to minimize the bad effect a decompression and recompression would have.
