I am Father...

Watch me run. At what point should I stop running? I'm having a hard time balancing fatigue with parental over-protection.

Let her go, she's fine.
I've been there, that moment is great!

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

You should quit running and move to a bike when she can outrun ya! Good training!

She hasn't figured out how to turn. I can't figure out how to teach her other than to let her crash. I was ok watching my son bounce off the concrete but this is different.

LOL! I was just doing this 2 days ago with my daughter with what looks like the same bike! Barbie Walmart, right? I stopped yesterday when I noticed that she can balance properly.

That is until she crashed. But I fought the urge to run as to not make her panic.

"I'ts OK, honey. Good job! You didn't get bruises! High five!"

I learned what the third ring is for when I started riding with my daughter!

BTW, mine crashed and needed stitches, but got right back on--they're tougher than they look (little girls)

Awesome...my ten year old daughter can out skill many adult riders in snow and ice. She also learned about speed carves with a weaving dismount to butt plant a few years ago, with me screaming 'brakes, brakes!!!'. I know how hard it is to see them crash but that is how we all learn about the physical limits of the world around us. Isn't it just such a proud moment? Now she wants to skateboard too...so I found some junker new school sticks on trash night and have given her the 20 year old German precision bearings from my old Tony Magnuson stick. She rides bearings twice her age..

After two years of training in Kyokushinkai Karate, my 12 year old daughter (now 14) could kick a six footer in the head. Never underestimate how tough a little girl can be.

You look skinny as hell-therefor, you can likely run until you keel over-or until your daughter's balance deserts her.
