The Cheering Up Thread

Lots of negativity lately. Anyone have some good stories? Jokes? Funny images/videos? Good music?

Let's keep it positive, kay? If I see anyone being negative, I'll punch you in the throat. <serious Vega look>

When I was at IKEA, I thought of Max and Stacey when I saw this:

I just got an email from my friend Mary aka The Travel **** in Hanoi, and here's some mildly funny items:

> Every person in Vietnam was in Hanoi (yesterday) for a national holiday--All of them were for some reason on their motorbikes

> She got a full body massage for $4, but did not get happy ending. The woman pressed on her forehead so hard, she now has a third eye

> She had trouble getting a train ticket, so her and her friend went back to the station later dressed as real Travel *****, and were able to get the tix, no problem

> They are a little worried about eating anything other than noodle since they don't see any cats around...

Was that a streetfighter Vega throatpunching look? Badass if so.

Today I went for a really nice climb where I made a point of bringing my digital camera so I could take a photo of the sunset. The weather was incredible, a few clouds veiling the sun, perfectly blue skies over town, dead batteries in my camera.

It was sort of a bummer but I had a good late afternoon romping around.

I spent most of the day in my shop with my 13 year old son just doing projects, making sawdust and noise. I love the time we spend together, and just the other day he told me he will commute with me to school.

We will drive fourteen miles (nearest town) then leave the truck and bike the last eight miles on the freeway to school. Mom is happy and so am I.

Spending time with him is some of the best of my life.

He made his first magnet out of some wire, a battery and a nut and bolt.

See my post about Stupid Alert here in foo and you will see one thing that happend.

I made a trash can out of the vaccuum canister, and spray painted it red.

From Death's door to posting on Foo. Here is my wife Michele. She will be trading in this wheelchair for the stoker's seat on a tandem before you know it.

Going to ride the Harley up to Malibu with some work buddies and see a friend I haven't seen in 20 years.
Then will give her her first ever ride on a Harley while she shows me the sights of the beach and LaLa land. Note to ladies, don't wait until your 38 to go for a motorcycle ride, really.

It's a very beautiful morning here, and my yard guy is cuttin' the grass. Ahhhh, the smell of fresh cut grass is one of those scents of summer that make it summer. I may go for an easy, short spin through the mostly deserted campus today.
