Foo Forever and Ever...Amen

Tonight, I officially renounced my citizenship in the 50+ forum. I finally realized that 50+ is quite the snobbish clique. Unless you are 50+ and spend 99% of your time there, you are persona non grata. I might be 53, but I don't care to discuss AARP...retirement...aching knees...kidney stones....prostate exams...the freaking flat bar vs. drops debate.... I live in Northern California...that leaves me with two spots on BF that I really enjoy...Norhtern California..and Foo...MOSTLY FOO. I like to think of Foo as home. I figure we have it all...young, old, men, women, whatever...and you guys are the best on BF...anyways..I like it here.

Associating with old people is one of the leading causes of aging. Friend of mine is your age (read: 30 years older than I) and one of the coolest people I've ever met. His trick? Refuses to acknowledge he can't hang with the boys like he used to, but tries like all hell while giving us youngsters wisdom. Hope he lives to be 100.

good point. I can ride a lot of young people into the ground...and I intend to keep at it until they run me into the ground.

Hmm. This thread just prompted some severe anxiety. Aging really is a thing, isn't it?

Anyway, glad to have you here, dauphin

For the record, I am not an admin. I don't know where he's getting his info...

Welcome Home Dauphin. And remember, 50 is the new 40.

What the hell do you think you were doing over there anyway? We laid claim to you ages ago. You belong to us, the Foo collective. We laid our claims loud and clear - Dauphin is ours!!!!!

DanG - you all are old! <runnings, hides and puts on armour...> hmmm, I am 48.

I will admit I do better in foodom than in the 50s group. Seems okay but really, I don't feel there is anything holding me back at my age and physical fitness.

I had such a wonderful experience a week or so ago. I took our furniture maker out to one of the farms to review some trees to be cut. We were going to cover about 240 acres. I asked if he wanted to use horses or just walk it. (he is in very good shape) - well, our mechanic who has been on one of my death marches told him - "Take the horse, he will kill you walking - he did me!"

He took the horse.

Nice to be my age and scaring people 15 years younger than you.
