Why cant I figure this out?

So I'm trying to open up a file from a DVD-rw on my computer. The file is definitely on there and I went to my computer to try and open it and when I click on it it gives me a window to add more files to it. What is going on?

Is the file a link and not the file itself?

No, when I click on the DVD-rw drive, it brings me to an area where I can drag and drop more files. All I want to do is open the document.

That's why I thought maybe it was actually a link to the folder.

How are you clicking it? From within Explorer?

It sounds like your getting into the folder structure on the DVD as opposed to the 'auto-run' your used to when you double click on the DVD. You should be able to browse thru the folder structure to get to the file you want, and then double click on that.
