What I spent my long weekend building.

Don't know how much it weighs, about 100lbs without the counterweights, and stands at just under 16 feet tall with the boom standing up, and around 8 feet tall when it's locked.

Right now we're in the tweeking stages and throwing 10lb rocks about 200 feet with 90lbs of counterweight. My long run goal is to throw a bike. Best thing thrown so far, a rock with some fireworks taped on.

No clue why we built it, we were sitting around when I asked if anybody wanted to build a trebuchet. 20 minutes later we were on our way to the lumber yard (it would have been sooner but my friend's truck sucks). Took about 15 hours to plan and get working, and alot of that was us goofing off, drinking and drawing penis's on my friends truck and workshop. Cost was $38.42CDN.

This looks to be an act of war perpetrated by the vile canucks.

Looks like it's time for a preemptive airstrike....I'm phoning the pentagon!

WTP. please evacuate those coordinates asap. That's a hot spot, soon to be a kill zone buddy.

sweet trebuchet, what are you using for the middle beam? Mine had an iron rod about an inch and a half in diameter, we bent it with about 200 pounds of counter weight.

1" coldroll. I have no worries at the moment of it bending. The A-Frames aren't straight up and down, they angle in towards each other so the bar doesn't have to be as wide, so it won't be as easy to bend.

Ah, the humble trebuchet. An uncivilized weapon for a more uncivilized age.

Very cool, WTP.

Home Owners Association had ruled it a weapon and let the police know about it, if it isn't off the property in by noon tomorrow we're getting fined.

Spray paint the words "Marijuana Bong For Terminal Cancer Patient" on the side. Let me know how that works out.
