    Luciano Pavarotti joins choir invisible

ap just reported that Pavarotti has passed away after suffering pancreatic cancer.
I had the privilege of seeing him preform in NYC once. I liked opera after that.

Even though I'm not a fan of opera, it's still sad to see one of the greats go. It's sad when the world loses someone who is that outstanding and excellent in their chosen profession that they became a household name.
The rider in my avatar is David Etxebarria, not me.

I cherish my copy of Pavarotti Sings the James Brown Songbook.
They told me to wear more lycra, and I said "no, no, no."

Expect stock prices for hair/beard/eyebrow dye products to drop in the coming days.

Even though I am not current with opera, its a loss to the world when someone who is a legend in their field dies.

Luciano Pavarotti, Italian Tenor, Is Dead at 71
    By BERNARD HOLLAND
Luciano Pavarotti, the Italian singer whose ringing, pristine sound set a standard for operatic tenors of the postwar era, died early this morning at his home in Modena, in northern Italy. He was 71.

His death was announced by his manager, Terri Robson. The cause was pancreatic cancer. In July 2006 he underwent surgery for the cancer in New York and had made no public appearances since then. He was hospitalized again this summer and released on Aug. 25.

“The Maestro fought a long, tough battle against the pancreatic cancer which eventually took his life,” said an e-mail statement that his manager sent to The Associated Press. “In fitting with the approach that characterized his life and work, he remained positive until finally succumbing to the last stages of his illness.”

Life is about hanging onto what you think is important and finding out what really is important.
"Stop Ruining my joke!", "No, a joke implies humor attached at no additional cost"
So many sayings, so little sig space.

I can't say I was a big fan...I never took much time to get into him. I did, however, love the "Ave Maria" duet he did with Dolores O'Riordan of the Cranberries.

    RIP Luciano.

Sad to see a great entertainer pass away.
Not an opera fan, but there are so few that have such an immense impact as he had.
    May he rest in peace.
