Because racing season is over...

I'll race your computer.

From completely powered off to having BF on your browser page.

1 minute 2 seconds

MacBook Pro

My old P3/533 with BeOS would cold-boot to the desktop in four goddamn seconds. Add in loading whatever browser it used and loading BF, we're probably talking 15 seconds, tops.

I don't even turn off my computer nowadays, so I dunno. Turning it off would take away precious looking-at-this-gorgeous-monitor time.

Is there a way that I can make you not okay with your having problems, but not to such a degree as for it to interfere with your life, just make you uncomfortable?

Probably, but I'm afraid that's something you're going to have to research on your own. Not something I should really be helping you with. You understand, I'm sure.

You used BeOS? I'm so jealous... I wanted a BeBox for the longest time, and was hoping Apple would choose it for a Copland replacement back in the day. I even had my Mac themed with Kaleidoscope to make it look like I was running BeOS. Ah, the memories...

No matter how hard I turn the crank on my computer box, it still takes around an hour and a half to boot up. However, the clown pops out of the top with much more authority at the end.

BeOS was definitely a good thing. I tried Zeta (the new version) but it never really progressed. You end up with a quick OS and the same 10-year-old interface

Notice the left turn. It's Magnum.

Only ambiturners can pull off Magnum.

Yeah, well... you wanna see a QUICK OS??? Try running Win 3.1 on a P-III or faster. LIGHTNING fast! Not that I'd wanna use it everyday, but...
