Regardless of how crummy the last several books in the Wheel of Time were, Jordan was a HUGE presence in the world of fantasy literature.

Good on him for supposedly letting a few close family in on his notes and plot outlines to get the last book done in the series. He was fighting his illness for the last couple of years and made it longer than originally expected.

RIP, James Rigney.

Wow...I feel bad for never having elevated his books from my "want to read" to my "have read" list now. I have respect as I've been hearing his name since I got into fantasy novels as a teenager with LOTR and Terry Broook's Shannara books.

Wow, I think I remember he was ill.
Thats very sad.

I am trying to slog through the final 'Wheel of Time' book. The last few have been pretty tough. I am determined to finish it though.
