last minute help on DC needed!!!!!

anybody have a good idea of where i can find a cheap yet good hotel/motel in a decent area of washington DC? I'm headed there sat and will be staying a few days, I just don't know the area. I don't mind staying a half and hour out of the city if it means sub 100$ rates. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Back in the 70's the hookers hung out near the corner of E and ? (too many beers ago to recall). There were some good strip clubs on Wisconsin Ave and close by. Check out those areas while you're in town.

I'm sure you still would want to stay away from Anacostia. But back then I had a '49 DeSoto and they all loved my car. I used to have to drop some co-workers off there.

I imagine it's not too bad. It's a bit of a drive to the north west. I was using your price point as a guide .

thanks for the help. I've been wingin this whole trip, and I started to think " hey, it's DC, everything is booked or expensive." So if I have to drive half an hour each way, that's fine, cause i'm gonna be there 4 days so I can see everything....

All booked up on a Tuesday? Geez. Friday I can understand, and I've certainly been there.

On the other hand, I got some of my best room rates rolling into town really late. Motels trying to book the last of their rooms, giving away fancy rooms for low, low prices.

Don't worry. It's not a matter of if you find a place, but how far out of town you have to go before you find an opening. Worst case is you have to go far out of town tonight, head into town in the morning, spend the day there, and try to find something closer.

Yeah. You couldn't even put CLT on your map. What are we fun people here? Chopped liver?

Anyway, re lodging in the greater D.C. area, check with the SE and NE regional forums, as both have claim on D.C. Also, StanSeven might be able to direct you to some inexpensive, but safe motels in the area. Sorry us CLT folks missed you.

We were never on your radar!

No, no amount of consoling will help us here. We are simply LOST to you.

<sniff, sniff> But, that's ok, Lodi. You go ahead with your <sniff, sniff> wonderful <sniff> trip. We all support you and still love YOU.

BTW, if you were to be in CLT next Tuesday evening (10/9), you could ride TT with us CLT BF/Foo'ers, and then stay at my place overnight.
