What should i say?

First off all, keep negative comments out. Now onto my question, my birthday is on the 14th, which is in a week. My parents keep asking me what do i want, and well there isn't really anything that i want, except for a new car(or new to me). I cannot say this directly to them, so i just say it doesn't matter get me whatever you think is good. Well i know they will keep asking me, but my dad did mention that i should not put money into my car he is going to get me a new one soon. What should i say that won't upset them in anyway? I usually want something, but now i have everything i need and it is hard for them to believe.

Tell tham you'd like a Porsche 928, but you'd settle for........<insert brand here>

Birthday presents aren't supposed to be about what you need, they're about things you want.....the little luxuries

It's a tough call. I'd probably ask for a gift certificate as the best compromise...easy for them, available to you for whatever you may need in the future. I'm not a gracious receiver of gifts and I'm a lousy shopper for gifts. The G.C. is magic.

Tell them that you appreciate the thought that they're putting into the gift-buying process, but that you honestly can't think of anything that you want. For example, you haven't even bought anything for yourself in a while, since you're saving your money in hopes of buying yourself a new car someday.

Just make sure it doesn't come out sounding like "Oh daddy, I'd love a new Mercedes for my birthday! All of my friends have them! Tee-hee!"

Oh on the 14! Sorry im an idiot.

In that case I would not really say anything. Why do you need a new car? If your turning 18 trust me...start thinking about other things your going to want next year in college, or saving for beer money (not kidding!).

Heh i am turning 17. This car is older than me, and i need about $600 to fix it up to last another year or so. We already spent over $1,000 rebuilding it, hence why it runs like a charm, just needs some other work done.

Tell him you'd like a couple of professional "escorts", a limo, a case of gatorade, and a box full o' condoms.

That'll be one birthday to remember..........
