I'm ghey: Inde-Rock Prop post

Music is a powerful thing to many people. I say many because some either have this trait and some don't, i suspect more do then do not. What is it? Basically, a certain song, group of somehow related songs or an album comes to represent a time.

I'll never lose the feeling i get when i listen to Dookie from the 1st track all the way to the perverse hidden track. To me that album is significant, not because it's mind blowing (by any stretch), but because it's the first real album i ever listened to and learned.

At any rate, at this crossroad in my life I've encountered a fairly new album that speaks to me. I feel i owe them money for putting my feelings into words.

Now excuse me while i go loath in my emo-ish inde rocking world of self pity.

Feel free to kick me in the nads and tell me to stop being such a *****

Thing is, in contrast to a lot of Wilco's work, this music if pretty hopeful and upbeat. In regards to my posting habits of late, they are what they are. I've always said what's on my mind.

I suppose i could ask you if your constant attention seeking behavior makes you feel better? But that would kind of be like the pot calling the kettle black wouldn't it?

Luckily for you and the rest of the forums, I'm talking to someone other then BF.net...

Why the post edit? It wasn't wannabe tough enough yet?

I know you're trying to be the tough guy, but you're coming off as the little girl on the play yard who just got her ball stolen. Grow up, pansy. Get over it.

glad to hear timmy.

and as far as music, it is very powerful to me too.
some songs can say exactly how I feel as if they had been written for me, but I find that If Im going thru something rough that it's a vicous circle to listen to something that might relate to this, it can make me even sadder, I find myself looking for more upbeat music or music that reminds me of being powerful and make the right desicion or 'snap" out of it.

I myself dont mind your threads at all.. like you said, it is what it is and again, Im happy that you found someone to talk to. I look forward to see you moving away from all this pain.

Post edit? Tough guy? Whatever bud...

Get over "it"...what is "it" exactly?

My heroin addict brother who was just jailed?
My mother living in a single room apartment on 19grand a year?
My other brother living out of his car?
My inability to focus on school?
My girlfriend that left me?
Or the whole other host of personal issues that i need to work out on my own?

You don't know me or my problems, so instead of trying to come off like you do, why don't you go play in your pink underwear and piss off.

"Get over all of it?"(it can apply to anything and everything, of which I may or may not know about, and obviously don't know about)

Is that more PC for ya?

Still, I don't know or understand even an infinitismal spec of your problems.

Thanks for the cookie.

Timmy there are a lot of us here that have a lot of issues in our personal lives as well.

I am not trying to downgrade what you are going through but if I were to list mine, yours would be a smooth ride on a bike through the spring time weather.

All of our experiences and the tough times we have are very important to us, and the impact is sometimes very unbearable.

It's how you handle it, Timmy. It's how you chose to think. It's what you are going to do with your situation rather than wallow in it.

We care about you Timmy and if you need us, you know we are here for you. But there is a difference between hovering in your own darkness and then spewing it about the others vs. coming to us for the love and support that we so eagarly want to give.

Lighten up on Jon, Timmy. He takes a lot of crap (especially from me) and comes out with battle scars but his spirit is high.

OMG.. I just complimented Jon. (delete delete delete)
