I immediately thought of the riff he did on their cover of "Higher Ground."

Flea is always good, but Chris Wolstenholme from Muse is also awesome.

Muse, 'Hysteria' is one of my fave bass lines ever.

Nah, no peace for Cliff. If there is a heaven, he's probably too busy making music to be all peaceful and serene. He, Jimi, and Dimebag must be kicking out some nice tunes.

Although, Janis, Jim, and Syd are probably doing some peaceful strung out Hippie stuff.

Beat me to it. Best reason to listen to RHCP is Flea. They're cool live, too, my indie snob friends can kiss my rear, Freaky Styley is an awesome album.

Oh yeah, and Higher Ground... shweet. Which album was that? I'm pretty sure I lost my copy

"Soul To Squeeze" has to be one of his best. Pretty basic, but has such an awesome groove.

The Doors actually didn't have a bass player, Ray Manzarek played most of the bass lines on his Farfisa organ, and / or they hired a bassist for studio sessions. Leroy Vinegar, a great jazz bassist, played on some of their stuff. I'll check my old LP and let you know....
