No preservatives huh?

I'm looking at a little packet of soy sauce that is advertising the fact that it has no perservatives. My question: Why the hell would soy sauce need preservatives?

Fermentation and salt isn't enough to preserve soy sauce?

It contains no preservatives because the main ingredients for the flavor pretty much are preservatives. It's like saying oil is a good lubricant.

The main point of advertising is to get money from suckers. Two of my college friends (one of them a chemist) bought a copper scouring pad one summer because its tag advertised that it won't rust. I told them that of course it wouldn't rust since it's not made of iron, so it won't make iron oxide (rust). It will make copper oxide instead. A few weeks later, it was green. But it didn't rust.

Because people who think they're being smart shoppers are more likely to put it in their cart.

I pound down box after box of Wheaties hoping to look like one of the athletes featured. Maybe I need another box...

It's advertising. They aren't lying just because they are stating the obvious. And it sounds better as a tag on the product box too.

I'm still working on getting drunk all the time to get all the hot women they show in the magazine booze ads.

I wont even mention what I do with Victorias Secret products and what my desired results are.

Ha ha. Misleading advertising. Kinda reminds me of people who have fakies and all kinds of cosmetic surgery done. You don't really get what you bargained for.

I like the organic me.

At least it wasn't outright false, unlike, say, a lot of bike part weights.

True that, sis. Nothing annoys more about a person than makeup, cosmetic surgery, or other artificial ways to "look better".

I just can't see how they can be happy with themselves, doing all that. Medically I can understand. Like having sixth toe removed or something.

A little bit of make up when going out I can understand to highlight yourself a bit But all that make up?? And while riding?? It's a mask.

OMG...don't even get me started. This is one of my soap boxes. I have cousins who change their hair color about every month. My mom when she used to wear make up would cake about 3 pounds of the stuff on. When she asked me how she looked, I'd say "like a clown" and then she'd cry. Well then don't put all that crap on and try to look like somebody you aren't. BE YOURSELF!

That's so going into my next batch! Nevermind these milk stouts that add in lactose sugar after fermentation... I'm going right to the source and brewing my next stout with rich, creamy buttermilk!

It's a bit like how they advertise fruit juice here. Most of them now proudly say "NO added sugar" on the bottle, but they never added sugar in the past. They're just advertising that fact now. They're still sugary drinks, with about 10-12% sugars, because that's the natural level in the raw fruit juice!

The most appaling is covering up MSG by labeling it a harmless sounding "yeast-extract"
