I grew something red and furry ...

and I swear it was moving ... even had some interesting 3D "sculptures" emerging from the middle that resembled flowers.

    It's name was ... oatmeal.

It was spawned last Friday, and emerged today as HORROR from Tude's Overhead File of Shame!!!

Good grief - I've never seen anything take on a life of it's own as this abomination!

Disposed of it in the kitchen trash - but HORROR - it quickly fumigated the whole kitchen with a rather unusual, pungent aroma, one that I could not mask ...

So I did the next best thing. Took my bowl to soak it at my desk ---- and ran.

Some people walked up the hallway with odd looks on their faces --- and pretty soon the building "haz-mat" cleaning services showed up with their rumbley carts and cleaning supplies and disposed of the HORROR.

Moral: Leftover oatmeal should be refrigerated ...

First mold and now this.....me thinks we need to come up with a really good nickname for Tude. And when I say "really good", I mean "really embarrassing".

It was probably a previously undiscovered potion with remarkable magical properties. But now... gone forever...

Moral: It's oatmeal, not $160/pound Kopi Luwak coffee beans. Even if you buy the really expensive steel-cut Irish oats it's only $20 for 7 pounds of them. It's OK to sacrifice half a serving to the garbage disposal.

I'm kinda grossed out by sinks full of dirty dishes and might sooner throw away a coffee mug which sat out all weekend rather than try to clean it.

Hey, this is how Sir Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin. You could have been on the verge of a major breakthrough discovery!

Personally, I think you should've kept it as a pet...if evolution is true, you could've eventually got something good.

I believe that the correct thing to do was sit down with it and give it a manicure.
