Spades. Unless there's some drinkin' of Jack involved. Then I'd have to say strip "Texas hold 'em."

Cribbage rocks and easily has the coolest points keeping method. The competitiveness and tactics get crazy out when the pegs hit the homestretch, for sure.

Oh man, I have no idea what it's called, but here's how it works.

1 blank deck of index cards.

Hand out a bunch of cards and a pen to each player.

You have to draw a picture and description on a card, and then you can play it.

There is no point to the game besides having fun, each card should hand out points or have some sort of effect, but there is no real winner or anything like that.

Examples of cards are:
Pic: Stick figure playing guitar Description: Any Foreigner Fans +20 points
Pic: Skull and crossbones Description: All pirates -eleventy points
Pic: Mushroom Cloud Description: Stick Figure Armageddon, all cards with stick figures are removed from play

Then, at the end of each game, you decide amongst yourselves on a % of the cards to keep, as a seed deck for the next time you play. I like to hand them out evenly and tell everyone they can keep 5 cards each, and the rest are going to be thrown out.

It works great as long as there is no one easily embarrassed or bad at being on the spot. Most of my friends love it, but there is one or two who just can't think of cards to create or get upset at the good natured jabs at people that some of the cards always end up being, or feel that their drawings aren't up to snuff or that sort of thing. (which is silly, because the rest of us are drawing blobs and stick figures, but anyways, I think you get what I mean)

Thank you all for no mentioning of:

Uno/Crazy Eights
Slap Jack
War

But now somebody will....and actually think that nobody else thought of posting it after I mentioned it. Aren't you original.

4's

Heres how it works.

Flip a card over, if it's not a 4 drink 4, if it is a 4, drink 3.
