Funny adendum to the Walmart thread...

It was funny reading this today on the local newspaper's site. I guess another perk of working at Walmart is that you still have to go to work even if you crash your motorcycle and break your arm. http://www.saljournal.com/rdnews/sto...anhurt11_19_07

Well that case sounds like a manager who wants to make sure he gets everything ready for black friday, as opposed to a cashier who gets told "you come in or you're fired."

Still entertaining though.

I'm willing to bet that the managers are under way more pressure than the cashiers. I know that this guy for one works night and day. His kids have been in jail quite a bit as a possible result of it.

I think his point is it's just a broken arm and a bit of road rash. Why is that a good enough reason to skip work for more than the day of the accident itself.

The man just appears to be a dedicated employee trying to make sure business goes as smoothly as possible on black friday. Probably why he's worked his way up to store manager.

Also, it makes me think of the 4 yorksmen Monty Python skit.
"We had to get up a half hour before we went to bed, our father would kill us, then we had to go to work cleaning the road with our tongues, and we had to pay our boss for the job"

Yes, the managers are invariably screwed in retail stores. Wally World is probably worse.
