Anyone know the length of a large tanker truck?

You know the type that carries fuel (with rig). I need this for a cad drawing I'm doing.

I believe I have seen some of the trailers that are 48' long. Don't know the length of the cab though.

Thanks. I think that's what I have with one of my drawings. But I wanted to make sure.

IIRC, the ICC or some other regulating body limits over all length to something like 75' to 80' on a combined single. Longer for a b-train setup.

53' and max overall of the single trailer unit is 75'

Longest tank though is actually 45' and there isn't really any reason to go longer because of weight limits.

EDIT: Texas and some of the SW States allow a 57' trailer, but in the MW, and NW and NE, 53' is the longest trailer.

I defer to the expert.

I'm working on 20+ year info passed down from pop. Things get cloudy.

A West Coaster, back in the day was one of those long framed conventional Pete's or K-whoppers (Kenworth's) with the early condo like sleeper units and a bodiciously long sliding 5th wheel.

This was when Daddy was running a lot of PA firebrick to Gary ( and other places in) Indiana in an old cabover Mack

All I know is that when I see a trailer with a 53' marking on it going through town, I pull off to the side of the road, whip out the cell phone and report it, (53's aren't allowed in town - they tend to knock down poles when they try to make the tight turns at intersections).
