South African gunpowder being blown off with my SA58 in disgustingly high quantities for tiny fractions of what it now costs.

I miss the smell of fresh rain on the pavement. Rain smells good on anything, even the roads.

Darn you Siu...

My grandmother would bake bread on a nearly daily basis... this would be intermixed with the smell of fresh ground coffee and tea which always seemed to be at the ready.

Dove soap... it was my grandmother's favourite and for the longest time after her passing I could not smell this without crying as it reminded me so much of someone I loved beyond words.

My Aunt's cinnamon buns... she used to bake them by the dozens and fill them full of love...and freshly churned butter.

I miss my High School woodshop. That was my introduction to blue collar trades. I get the sawdust smell from working, but I do miss the smell of the old musty room. I was so happy to finally be learning how to work with power tools. Those were good times.

aaaahh-ooooohhh, didn't consider the good things ...

My grandmother's casserole of rice pudding, my other grandmothers pan of german pastries

My Mom's smelling up the house with her Thanksgiving turkey or her meatloaf that now bothers my stomach (). But all yummers and <snnnnnniffffff> yum.

And lilac was my grandmothers favorite - which is now mine. In fact getting ready to shower and when I come out - I will be a lavendar babe.

A northern pine forest in the fall. The smell of spring. Leaves after they first fall. Fresh air after a snow storm.

Yeah, there are a few things I miss - but if I left the tropics I would miss:

1. Getting stuck behind a pineapple truck - talk about drooling!
2. Cerviche
3. Rainforest during a rain.
4. Soaking in a rainforest river while the rain is lightly falling in the early morning.

Pine being cut, in an old friend's woodshop

I was six the first time I went there. I'm there every chance I get now. He's a retired carpenter and the guy who showed me I wanted to know how to do that stuff.

I miss the "stench" of my late father's dresser drawers and his cologne. My dad's clothes would smell of the particle board the dresser was made of. I only miss it because I miss my father. He passed in 1996.

I also miss the smell of plumerias in Hawaii. It reminds me of good times with my family and cousins over there.

I always liked the smell of the fumes at a gas station in the morning. The new nozzles must make a better seal than they used to, because I don't notice the smell as much anymore.

The ozone-y smell right before rain.

The forest.

Orange Blossoms.....where I grew up we had orange groves around us so it always reminds me of the simple times of being a kid and just goofing around with no worries.
