    bikey music

My local public radio station played Mariott On Wheels this evening. I haven't laughed that hard in a very long time - so sweetly twisted. I found it on iTunes for $0.99 and it's worth every penny. Here's a sample. Lauren Molina has a nice voice, too.

    Lyrics:

    Help Me I can't breathe
    I'm right behind an SUV
I'm looking in at his TV
As I ride my yellow bike

    Help Me I can't see
I'm getting lost in his exhaust
I start to cough as it cuts me off
As I ride my yellow bike

    Chorus:
Why drive alone in a Hummer in the City?
Alone on the phone in a Hummer in the City?
    Knowing you chose a non-green-death-machine,
You're doing you're part to fart on the world.

    Tell me how it feels
To drive a Marriot On Wheels
    While you're killing baby seals
As i ride my yellow bike

Tell me if you're feeling nifty
when there's no more oil in 2050
i know it's scary to be thrify
as i ride my yellow bike.

    Chorus
"Real wars of words are harder to win. They require thought, insight, precision, articulation, knowledge, and experience. They require the humility to admit when you are wrong. They recognize that the dialectic is not about making us look at you, but about us all looking together for the truth."

But that's the best part - a message like that delivered in such a voice!

Well I'm off to drive my SUV to the mall to buy my wife a baby seal coat for Christmas.

Don't forget to cut off a cyclist on your way.

Oh come on, I would never cut off a cyclist... I mean, I would never cut one off intentionally, I usually too busy talking on my cell phone to notice them, so it's not really my fault..
Ah... they shouldn't be on the road anyway.

I just got home from the longest, largest bike move on record in Portland. 12 miles, 27 people, 26 bikes (1 tandem), and 24 trailers. We had to ride past one of the largest shopping malls in Portland. Couldn't miss us if you tried.

I'll post pictures as soon as some are up.

That's good bikey music, too. How about this version?
