    Work breath??

Every now and then I'll talk to someone at work who's breath is so strong it smells like they just sucked the innards of a 2-week dead camel out the arse through a straw.

Am I the only one who keeps mints or gum or something handy to try to keep my breath from being offensive while at work?

Ditto...I have 2 tins in my desk drawer and a few tins (4 or 5) in my car.

LOL....you just reminded me of a story I'd forgotten. I had this Japanese guy as a lab partner for a Physics lab in college. I swear the guy ate nothing but fish and his breath smelled of rotting fish meat all the time. It was REALLY STRONG too. I would have to turn my head and hold my breath too.

It got so bad I had to do something. He never took my hints either. Last day of the semester I brought in about 12 different methods of breath freshening items. I had gum, mints of every variety. I even brought a trial size bottle of Scope mouthwash. I offered them to him one by one and he completely did not get it. He just kept politely refusing my offerings. I said in a loud voice (last one) "WOULD YOU LIKE SOME MOUTHWASH?"

He still didn't get it. He just politely declined and went about his business. Thank god I never had to work with him again.

I keep a lot of gum handy for myself. I will offer it to others.

I also use the direct approach and tell then offending stink breathe that they indeed have stink breath.

I lack tact, compassion and sympathy. At least I know where I stand.

I try to have a mint or two, and ask family members if my breath is lethal, or not bothersome.

Honest feedback is nice, because I know how horrid it is to deal with other people who fail in the personal hygiene department.

Your post just made me think of this:

Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and, with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him a super calloused fragile mystic vexed by halitosis.
