Yeah, I'm dating a teacher, so I'm looking very forward to her Christmas break, when she'll be coming into my office and bringing me lunch every day. Me, I just have off Christmas Day... working the day before and the day after... ugh!

hehe, on the other side ...

I'm scurrying like hell getting stuff ready for semester end cause that's when I really start working as I get all the paperwork, etc set for semester end ... and WHAT??? What do you mean the 1000 computer fed student survey forms are "having a problem" Nooooooo ... oh yeah and making sure I have all my stuffs ready for Spring semester (so how many students do think we'll have ... uhuh... my ... that's quite and increase - holy carp ---!!!!!!!!!, and keep my website set and ... WHAT???!!!??!!! the one art class has already started the art project that will be done mid Spring and I need to have a blanket purchase order ready for WHATTT!!!)

And oh ... hi, so you've been the honor student in the one class here, and I have to move the artwork from where???

and ... and ... and .... Christmas????

<pout> Summer is my slow time

Yes students - there is one hell of a lot going on behind the scenes! I am actually working on current semester - next semester - just regular paperwork, etc stuff - but the many extra projects which is all that we provide for our students - well we're actually working out 3-5 semesters ... and that includes obtaining grants for certain projects, scheduling community sites for the students - and making sure they qualify for the project, etc, etc, etc - very busy. There is down time though - just after the semester starts ... ahhhh brief quiet time .... AND THEN END OF SEMESTER HITS AND BWAHHHHHHHHH!

And oh yeah - I and my boss are in touch with all our professors of the way too many courses we are included with and so we have to have the professor do stuff, have the class fill out more stuff and collect it and follow up with it --- and have meetings with the professors besides! - planning for the next several semesters!!

And I'm the front person who handles all the problems and I can have sometimes 5 deep of people - either for things they need to have defined for this semester - or for students interested in courses for next semester.

Yep, can be a busy day

And there is always one or several students with individual quirky problems that ... take some time to figure out and put back together - paperwork hasn't shown up ... something didn't happen right and this poor person is standing there (and I've been there too) with a piece of paper that doesn't have what they need to see on it - well that's what we're here for - to figure it out and make it right.

And then there's this one person who follows up and makes sure the 2 yr degree in my school of people in the Service-Learning area who have qualified - get a very very nice boxed certificate with extra distinction because they did the work ... and I must say - seeing and hearing from some of the students who receive the extra distinction besides their diploma is special...

very nice.

BUT BUSY

Lots going on behind the scene - believe me!

Christmas time kills me each year. Wife works in retail, so her hours are nuts this time of the year. I work in an accounting department...my hours are starting to get nuts this time of the year. Then there's the shopping, the parties, the kid has to be entertained, the kids parties, and on it goes.
I need a christmas break too.

Looking forward to visiting and riding with the North Carolina BF people over winter break. Not looking forward to the huge amount of work to get done before then and the work I'll likely be dragging along to get done while out there.

Snowy my sweet, sweet dear. You've done something no one else here in bikeforums has ever managed to do. You just made me see something GOOD about Christmas. We get free time off work.

For the record though....I'm looking forward to Xmas BREAK, not Xmas itself.

Two of my friends have quit their jobs recently to go into teaching so they can have summer and Christmas breaks.

I am just looking forward to New Years Day. That is the day that all of the Christmas paraphernalia at our house goes back in the attic.

I'm not taking any time off per se, but many people in the office are. Since they are the ones who see clients, it's going to be pretty peaceful. I should be able to skate out of work early now and then between 12/21 and New Year's.

Praying for the Semester Break here! I'm completely strung out on studying this semester. Just finished up what seemed like my 537th paper for Sociology!
