Two questions:

1. Is your significant other high maintenance?

2. Are YOU high maintenance?

(Be honest, now!) I can see a few Foosters that would be.

I'm not terribly high maintainance...but I do have to have attention paid to me. And you need to go to karaoke with me a couple times...

These are serious questions. I was talking to someone about this earlier. And he had mentioned something about me and "high maintenance".

Oh, this is serious? In that case:

1. Who?

2. I really can't imagine that I am. I may not know exactly what "high maintenance" means, though.

Well alrightythen.

Neither of us are high maint.

1. SO. clips coupons, cooks like a pro chef, likes to keep the house clean, stays fit, doesn`t drink, doesn`t care for jewelry. Appreciates the simple things in life like a phone call or a birthday card. Doesn`t ask for much. Her career is what she loves doing despite what her W-2 shows and is thankful that she is able to.

2 ME. knows he is blessed, never strays, thinks about the future and retirement. Puts "US" before "ME". Prefers to stay home on Friday and Saturday night. Respects her parents. Takes baths on a regular basis.

1) not applicable at the present time

2) no - I could give a crap about attention, gifts, etc. If someone loves me for who I am, that's enough.

Unfortunately, the present four-year dry spell on girlfriends suggests that something is amiss. It probably has something to do with working 50+ hours a week on my PhD and training 20 hours a week on my bike. Oh well.

1. No

2. Yes, but I was pretty rough on my body growing up and now tend to have a lot of nagging injuries that require constant rehab.

1) Not at all - so nice for a change!

2) *Maybe* I have certain things I like but it's not exhaustive. Simple things like treating me with respect. She handles me like she's known me for years.

1.) She pretends not to be, but she is, after all, a girl. This makes her automatically more high maintenance than I am.

2.) Probably. I talk a lot and demand a lot from a conversation. I don't really do small talk.
