Company Christmas Parties

So mine is on the 21st. I was asked if I was bringing anyone and I just busted out laughing I said no. Just me. Flying solo this year!

Anyone else in the same boat? One of my co-workers offered to set me up, but I was like HELLA NO. It can be fun times going alone

I've woke up with people I desperately did not want to see after my office xmas parties in teh past. Luckily in government, we don't have them. Thank the baby Jesus!

Sounds like someone is going to enjoy herself. Don't over do it, you don't want scans of the photocopies you made at the party hitting the internet. Then again, I'm sure some of the Fooster guys might enjoy it.

Yeah I'll be flying solo as well. No worries though, it's just a low key dinner.

Our was yesterday....no worries like that for us as our holiday party is just a pot luck lunch in the conference room for our department.

Believe me, you don't ever want that problem...

The times it's happened have created some very awkward situations in the workplace.

Company parties stress me out a bit - I've ducked out of a few of them (usually stayed in the office to work later). Happy hour Fridays were never a problem though

I don't think we have the drinkin' parties. I think it's just cake and nerds.

One year I took the company president's daughter, upon her request. We had a great time together, and it was funny seeing how the others reacted.

BTW, I asked the President how he felt about me taking his baby to the party, and he stated "she could do a lot worse... I've seen it".

This year I flew solo, because both of the girls I date wanted to go. I never thought I'd have to deal with that in my entire life.

A friend/co-worker offered to set me up for last year's company Christmas party, and the guy didn't show!! We did actually end up going out a few times after that, but it didn't work (we're still friends though). I'm single again this year, and I just asked him (actually, told him) that he owed it to me to be my date for this year's party. My money's on him being a no-show again.

I get laid off on the 21st and harvest temps like myself do not get invited to Company parties anyway. The wifes' company is laying her entire branch off about Christmas time anyway so no party there. A gay co-worker invited the two of us to a dinner party for the four of us he and his life partner are having. Since the partner is a professional chef the eats will be good. I'll bring course matching wines.

I've worked for GE for almost 20 years. In that time, I have been to 2 of the parties. Just something I figured I see the folks everyday, I don't want to see them on the weekend too.
