Favorite Christmas Song(s)

OK...I don't particularly like Christmas anymore due to the commercialization of it starting at or before Halloween. I don't like having to make up a list of things I "want". If I want or need anything during the year, I'm usually able to purchase it when wanted or needed. I used to really like Christmas and enjoyed buying presents for my family & friends. All I have left now, is Christmas music. I still like that and really enjoy hearing it.

So, I was thinking about my favorite songs this morning on the way to work (as I listened to Christmas music) and wondered what everyone else's favorite songs might be.

Here are a few of mine, in no particular order:
Silver Bells
Frosty the Snowman
I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas
Winter Wonderland
Silent Night
anything by The Chipmunks
Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer

Your turn

Although not overtly a Christmas song, I love Johnny Mathis' When A Child Is Born.

Silent Night - to me the ultimate Christmas song
O Holy Night - especially when Johnny Mathis does it
I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day
Zat You, Santa Claus

It's a tie between:

The Kinks "Father Christmas"
Father christmas, give us some money
Dont mess around with those silly toys.
Well beat you up if you dont hand it over
We want your bread so dont make us annoyed
Give all the toys to the little rich boys
and Run-DMC's "Christmas in Hollis"
It's Christmas time in Hollis Queens
Mom's cooking chicken and collard greens
Rice and stuffing, macaroni and cheese
And Santa put gifts under Christmas trees

Okay, it isn't a song, but a comedy sketch by Hudson & Landry, called "A Frontier Christmas". Makes me cry every time I hear it.

I prefer Adam Sandler's Hanukkah songs (even though I'm not Jewish). Ironically, I can't hardly stand his movies.

Funny, funny songs....

My favorite Christmas song this year is the old version of Winter Wonderland recorded by Darlene Love....

Cause you hate his movies. Yes, they are cookie cutter. Yes, he's an clod and jerk. But in the end it's all happy and feel good.

Besides, having a foster dad like in Big Daddy must be hella cool. Walkin' down the street, whippin out Johnson and taking a wiz. How cool is that!

I enjoyed "stupid humor" movies when I was younger (like Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, etc...), but I find them less and less appealing nowadays. I get a few giggles while watching them, but when its all said and done I feel like I wasted 2 hours.

Also keep in mind, I'm not your average movie watcher. I'm one of those fuss butts who generally agree with critics.

How could I have forgotten this one by The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl?

"Fairytale of New York"

Christmas Eve in the drunk tank.... Sinatra.... Lover's fights... It's got it all!

Wow, just found the video. Awesome.
