I'm grumpy -- stuck in school another semester

Due to two classes being cancelled, I'm graduating fall of 2008, not spring.

Being a student has its pluses, but praying that an old vehicle makes it until I graduate and can find a decent job sucks, not to mention only being able to hit 1-2 renfaires a year at most, much less get the money needed to start a family.

How much money do you need to start a family? I started mine while still in school and we didn't have any money.

I actually know somebody who did that. I'd ask, but I can't stand to be around him.

Can you work somewhere full-time 'til fall, mlts22? And I guess I need a second cup of coffee today: what is a "renfaire"?

Depends on the shipping costs, airholes in the box cost extra.

I think there's a plot afoot to make college students spend more than 8 semesters at school... I think it's called "requirements". I didn't have any back in the early 70's, thanks to the student stirkes of the late 60's. If you've managed to get out of HS with enough math credits, what does a liberal arts, social science, etc. major NEED algebra for anyway? You young'uns ought to strike!

Really? Algebra could be quite useful in as simple a thing as investing you 401K money.

Its not really makeup classes, its prerequisites. I am going more than full time in the summer, but its the fact that some classes are only offered in the fall, and can't be taken independent study.

Renfaires, or renaissance faires are a nice change of pace from anything computer based. No PocketPCs, no caring about anything computer related, its mainly just personal interaction, storytelling, buying yet another sword, and (last but definitely not least) ale. Its a nice hobby, and I'm trying to come up with something that I might be able to do for something interesting (either something to sell at a booth, or something entertaining).

As for family, to start a family, you need someone of the opposite sex (well, pretty much... cloning is still not day to day tech yet) and that means cash to pay for dates, etc. Austin's IT market is so saturated that not many employers want people taking college classes (for fear that something may break during a class time), so its hard to find any work in the field. It would be awesome if I could find something full time, but its not going to happen until I get my diploma, most likely.
