call the dating site guy and tell him the name of the bar. just do not use your favorite bar, use a random bar. meet him there after the ride. tip off a few friends, so they can be there, just in case.

Rochester?

Shovel snow...

Burn down abandoned Kodak buildings...

Shovel more snow??

I would vote for "go out with the guy from the dating site". But which one?

Yahoo Personals? Match.com?? Plentyoffish??? E-Harmony???? Craigslist?!?!

ew! didn't we all agree that taking wingmen (or womyn) along for dates was a major faux pas, only perpetrated by insecure college age girls?

Fly to Washington with bike and take a night ride with KT!

Wait....we don't have snow. If you can wait for me, I'll come out there and we can ride in the snow together.

Not to mention crude, lewd, and nude.

But it is a first date, a little restraint may be in order.

Tude - don't go out with that stranger. I have it from the grapevine that he isn't a stranger, but he is truly strange.

I am not sure you can deal with a date with Explody Pup.

In any case, the guy will probably have his gang too, and, like, if he's Jets and Tude is Sharks, they can all settle it right there with lots of singing and dancing.

no, see, the classy modern tech savy way to do things is to:
a: alert the friends that you will be on a potentially lame date, set up an alternate meeting spot
b: tell them to, at a predetermined text message signal, call you on your cell
c: when things look grim, send out a distress text
d: accept incoming cell call reply and act like there's some life threatening emergency down at the server farm that needs your immediate attention
e: give your not-so-hot date an insincere apology and beat feet for the rendezvous.
