Get the Led out.

I saw a video clip of the Led Zep show in England last night on CNN. They sounded UNBELIEVABLE. I mean they just tore the friggin roof off from all reports.

NOBODY rocks harder than Led Zep. If they tour I will pay what the scalpers want to be at MSG in NYC. Oh yes.

C'mon, Pcad. I ain't no wet behind the ears n00b when it comes to music. I know a lot about it. A whole heckavalot. I grew up in home where music was the staple of our diet.

As far as I could remeber I was listening to Led Zepplin, Grand Funk, Black Sabbath, Edgar Winter, The Doors, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, etc. Before I was walking, I was singing with these bands through a cheap record player and half stoned from second hand weed. Music was, is, and will be my life.

Led Zepplin was a great band. But to claim, NOBODY rocks harder? I just can't agree.

Well I think we need to define, "rocks HARDER," first. In what respect do they rock harder? Heavy, loud, fast? There are so many bands out there that are harder, faster, louder. Bands that are just as talented or more talented. Is it because they have made a name for themselves by filling large places with huge crowds? What makes them HARDER than anyone else that can do the same?

I agree with substructure. Zepplin, Stones, all those fossils only need not to suck to be considered fantastic. It was kind of refreshing when whats-his-face from the Police admitted that the band's first reunion concert sucked.

I'd go, though, if the ticket was around $10.75.

Indeed you will. If Zep does a world tour they'll shatter all world tour gross receipt records.

I was a Zep completist in high school, but I pretty much moved on to other stuff after that. Got tired of the "dinosaur stomp" sound, I guess, especially after I discovered more underground acts. I still have all my old records, but they don't see the light of day too often. And, yes, there's stuff that rocks harder than Zep, though it was probably the heaviest stuff of its time.

That's not entirely true. Said bands may get somewhat of a pass, but that is because in their prime, they were better than anyone else. Simply put, Zeppelin changed the rules. They were the first to take control of their own tours. They were the first band that made serious money on their own tours. Ridiculous money.

I still have my old Zeppelin, Stones and Police records. I seldom listen to them. "Classic Rock" stations make me cringe. If I never hear "Freebird" again, I will not be unhappy. I much prefer to hear some of the newer stuff coming out.

It may be kinda silly to make a statement like "nobody rocks harder", but it is just as silly to argue against it. These opinions are totally subjective, colored by the experiences of the one with the opinion.

\off soapbox.

And yes, I'd go see them.

Popping in the 10-CD box set (all studio albums) of Led Zeppelin.

Can somebody give substructure some crackers? Maybe it will shut him up for a while.

C'mon, the only way your gonna get a Zep reunion is if three people die. Otherwise it ain't gonna happen. Bonnham's son, no matter how good he is ain't John Bonnham.

Deal with reality and stop lying to yourselves.

Despite my skepticism, I don't think there is a harder rocking riff than the one on "Whole lotta love." If they can nail that one like old times, it might be worth even $11.75 to be in the audience.
