American History

Hey folks, I've been busy lately with school and all. I am currently studying for my American History exam, and one of the essays is: " Describe the reasons Theodore Roosevelt and his supporters wanted the U.S. to abandon the policy of isolationism and become more involved in war affairs."

I searched in my textbook throughout the chapters that the exam is on, i even looked in chapters that aren't on the exam, yet i cannot find the answer. I search on Google without any luck. Can anyone help me?

Thanks

russiankdi...the Internet Public Library has an amazing amount of good online, electronic information.

www.ipl.org

Their history page has a lot of links that I think may be of help to you. Let me know if you run into any more roadblocks, but check out of a couple of the links to see if you can dig out the answer to your question.

not to start sounding all teacherly on you dude, but you've been looking for about 5 minutes
keep at it, think of synonyms, and be patient. perhaps you can buddy up with a classmate who might have notes that you do not have?

Then you should have nothing to worry about. Go play or have some fun.

ok, be that as it may, i personally find it morally and ethically wrong of me to hand you the answer to your exam question. i have pointed you in a direction to find the information your looking for. that's as far as i'm willing to lead you, i do wish you much luck on your test tomorrow.

and fear not...even if you can only write a little bit on that particular topic, you should still do well on the test with the rest of your notes and studying

Im not asking you to give me the answer, i appreciate the help. I have been studying for the past 4 hours so i am tired. This is the only part of the test i do not know, so even if i do miss it won't hurt me much.

Hi,
An American navy guy wrote a book that everybody went nuts over. It said a country had to grow or be conquered, and the way to do it was naval power.

We were already grabbing land beyond our borders in places like Hawaii and Alaska. We are talking about imperialism. So we tried to get some colonies.
That didn't work out so good.

I was pretty sure that Teddy didn't want to get involved in wars directly to be honest. The US were kinda hoping to avoid the war, but realized that with out sending aid (Arms, Lend-Lease, etc) then they'd definitely be suckered into a War before too long.
