Merry Politically Correct

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere . Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishes.

Or dare I say: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I was raised as a Catholic and subscribed to Catholicism into my early adulthood. I went out into the world then experiencing different forms of the Christianity. I am no longer a practicing Catholic. I have taken on my own special spirituality based on the Christian believes. While I personally donít believe organized religion is evil. I do believe that many men and women who lead in organized religion are. This is not just Christianity buy all.

The principle reason of this thread is to wish ALL a peaceful time of the year without conflict or rather evoking believes or ideology.

Peace

As one of my friends said, "Have a Cool Yule and a Fabulous First!"

Or, "Merry Christmas!"

Or, "Gaudete! Puer nobis nascitur!" (You can find these with a Google search, but they are two separate things.)

Why is it that we only wish people merry whatever and happy whatever during the December holidays and birthdays? Why not wish them a merry and happy everyday? Personally, I don't like Christmas because it's all commercialized. I don't agree with those who hate organized religion though. If you think about it, we all practice some kind of traditions or rituals at some time of the year. And if you don't believe in any God then what makes your rituals any more proper than anyone else's? I'm just saying...

I am going to sing my God happy birthday on the 25th though, it's just my way to celebrate without giving in to the corporate side of the holiday season.

Well, lets see.

1.) Our rituals and traditions were in place eons before your god was born.

2.) Your gods followers stole our traditions and festival days and co-opted them into their own celebrations

3.) Your gods followers stole the foundation of our belief system and co-opted it in to their own (sun/son).

I'm just answerin'

You gonna bake him a cake too?
